Walked in and spoke to Ms. Sharmaine about furthering my education in the cosmo program. Truthfully, I walked in a few minutes before she was leaving for the day but that did not stop her from taking her time with me and doing a school tour without being rushed. We talked for some time with no pressure added on me and she followed up with me the following day to go over our visit and to address any questions or concerns.

I had just made the honors society at UTRGV and I was torn between continuing my education there or becoming my own boss to better suit my son’s therapies schedule. And after meeting Ms. Sharmaine and after our discussion, I knew becoming my own boss was the only way I can comfortably be there for my son 24/7 career wise.

Cosmo is no walk in the park! Ms. Sharmaine had frequent checks asking about my day and how the program is going. Trust me when I say this goes a long way when you are a stressed cosmo student! I never felt like a number to her I always felt like someone who she truly cared for!

My cosmo instructors always showed up and showed out! They were always there to connect on a one on one bases and never judged when you asked the most silliest questions. Trust me when I say, I asked a lot! And if they did not know an answer they would find the answer! We did some laughing and learning in the classroom which made learning comfortable and pleasing.

During my practical exams I could just tell the difference in the way I was educated compared to other students from different schools. My over all appearance was cleaner and my techniques were on point. My confidence was definitely there because everything was properly taught to me.

I have been licensed for a little more than over a year and I have done presentations for different schools and none compare to SCI. And because of my experience of being a student and now a licensed professional I can write this honest review. SCI is the school to go to if you are serious about your education. They have the skilled instructors that will have you passing both your state board exams with flying...

I recently visited The Salon and Spa at Southern Careers Institute, where students provide services under the guidance of their instructors, and I was absolutely impressed! I had my hair done, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic.

Alondra did a fabulous job with my hair! I couldn’t believe she was still a student—she acted and performed like a seasoned professional. The style she achieved was exactly what I wanted, and I was thrilled with the results. A huge thank you to Ms. Perez, who guided and supported Alondra throughout the process. Her expertise and encouragement clearly brought out the best in her student.

I do not recommend anyone go to this school at least for the cosmetology program, you get taught the most basic things and even then they expect you to services clients at their salon with the minimal teaching they do and on top of that get mad and suspend you if you refuse to take a client, there is also a lot of favoritism and very rude instructors especially this one named Mrs.alaniz who constantly will make rude comments to students and speak badly about students to other students, i made several complains and nothing was ever done, I feel like this program was a waste of 9-10months, I learned nothing and either wya am going to be in debt over $11,000 also the drop out rate for this program is insane, so overall bad experience, did have a few good moments but I would not recommend this program to anyone starting off their...
