My young niece hesitantly went to the ER for a gynecological issue in hopes to receive professional, efficient, medical treatment. Instead, she was met with an atrocious, vulgar and disgusting ED Physician, Mr. David Cheng. Rather than providing patient care and giving medical advice, he sent her home with a new found trauma, anguish, embarrassment and confusion. She has never had any type of gynecological exam, let alone a primary gynecologist, so this was already a brand new, uncomfortable and distressing experience for her. While MD Cheng was performing a vaginal exam he was making comments to the nurse such as, “this is the smallest one we’ve had yet” “We need a smaller speculum” and on top of all of that my niece said she witnessed him noticeably grinning in the midst of the exam. She is now even more reluctant to seek medical treatment for routine care that she needs. This one physician has scarred a young girl with his careless, indiscreet, immoral comments. We are all well aware that this physical exam is already one of the most vulnerable and uncomfortable exams that there are and he made it even worse with his negligent actions. I just want the rest of the patient population to know how he treats his young female patients. We are disgusted and you...
Read moreCalled the UH Rainbows Children's Pediatric Emergency Room in Brunswick at 7:10 AM on 17 November to ask how busy the ER was. Was told they do not provide that information as it can change rapidly. As I started to explain that my child needed a psychiatric evaluation the person said "Have a good day" and hung up.
From the UH website: Vision - Advancing the Science of Health & the Art of Compassion Values - Compassion. We have genuine concern for those in our community and treat them with respect and empathy.
I did not perceive much compassion, genuine concern, respect or empathy.
While I understand that wait times/busyness can change rapidly, knowing the current state is helpful when deciding where to go in the near future as the current state is not likely to change dramatically in a short period of time (i.e. not likely to go from a 5 minute wait to a 5 hour wait within 15 minutes and conversely not likely to go from a 5 hour wait to a 5 minute wait within 15 minutes).
Thankfully, there are several good hospital choices in the Cleveland/Akron area, whether Akron Children's (who are willing to let you know how busy the ER is over the phone) or Cleveland Clinic Fairview (where we ended up going and had a great...
Read moreI have had 2 terrible experiences with this ER and it's clear to me that the staff at this location isn't being held accountable for their behavior. The first time I went there for a UTI. They ignored me for several hours without even giving me a call button, I finally had to call my husband (who was with our small children) to come up and help me. They ended up discharging me with a diagnosis of "pinched nerve." I got progressively worse and ended up being admitted to the hospital 5 days later with a kidney infection b/c they didn't treat the UTI I told them I had.
More importantly, My disabled father was taken there on 10/21/21 for pneumonia. They did a cat scan of his chest and have since lost his gold chain that had his wedding band on it. My father subsequently passed away on 10/27/21, and now his wedding band of 55 years is gone and the whole staff mysteriously never saw anything. He was a quadriplegic, so he certainly didn't take it off of himself. The staff in this ER is very careless, save yourself the heartache and go...
