Placed an online order at approximately 4:00pm on 7/6/20. Made sure item was in stock, waited for confirmation email that item was “ready for pickup” and headed to the store (43 minute drive). Arrived to find store empty except for one customer at checkout. Was ignored for 3 minutes by employee in Online Pickup section. Once gaining his attention he says with extreme disgust “ can I help you sir?” Explain my reason for visiting and he walked away not saying a word to me. He walks to checkout area to talk to cashier and is in no hurry. He walks back across front of store, past me and heads for rear of store. I ask sarcastically, “are you going to assist me or just continue to ignore me?” The elderly male staff shouts back “I have to get a scanner.” I loudly tell him to get a manager while he’s at it. He returns, enters the work area and proceeds to fiddle with the scanner for at least 4 minutes with not a word. I ask what he is doing, why it’s taking so long and where is the manager? He gets on intercom and rudely says “I need a manager up here because a customer wants to complain about me.” Up comes the manager who is non chalant and low energy. I explain the fact that this man is rude, untrained and clearly in need of assistance. The mgr states he has to scan the package and it’s a new process. When challenged he stated that the item isn’t paid for until it’s scanned. I showed him a charge on my credit card made two hours prior by Staples and asked if I cud take my package. At this point the employee and a angry and tossed the scanner stating “ I can’t log on.” I asked if I could take my item and the manager starts explaining that the item was shipped from another store???? I said, no it wasn’t I ordered it 45 minutes ago and drive here to get it. Terrible customer service, incompetent and rude staff and a condescending and inexperienced manager. Won’t be back will wait two days for Amazon to...
Read moreI am a graduate student and tried to print out course material to study while away from class (scientific papers from my course website, posted by my professors). I was told that they could not print papers directly from the Internet and that I would have to email the material to Staples so that they were sure that this was not a copyright violation. I wasted 20 minutes in their store (on my smart phone) getting the material into a form of which I could email to them. During these 20 minutes a woman at the copy center loudly discussed with coworkers how some "stupid customers" come in and try to print out books from their kindles and violate these copyrights. I ignored these incredibly rude comments despite being only 10 feet away. I was planning to just get the course work into an email and get out of there. I finally succeeded and when they received the message they still refused to print. I was just trying to get my homework done, but they were unfamiliar with things such as scientific journal articles as standard graduate school reading. These are papers purchased by my school, mailed to me by my professors and I have the right to print them! Most of all, it was entirely unnecessary to be condescending while I was standing right there and waste my time if you never planned to print them in the...
Read moreThis location is easy to find and they are perfect for small print jobs I have (like for a printable for my son's class or craft projects I'm working on). Once I had little cards printed out for treats to stick in to and they turned out too flimsy. When I returned to show them, they redid the job for me on a heavier stock and they did it right away! The new card stock was much better and the project turned out great!
Another time I needed stickers printed because it was turning out wrong and I brought in my own sticker paper. The clerk helped me understand why I was having trouble - I bought the ink jet paper and I have a laser printer! (rookie mistake) Anyway, she showed me to the sticker paper they had in store and I was able to buy it and get the job printed before I left.
Aside from print jobs, I think the most valuable service they have is that they can process USPS shipments (& UPS) in store! I LOVE that! It's closer to me than the post office, and typically MUCH faster! Plus parking is easy compared to the down town post office! I definitely use Staples more now than I ever...
