Stonehedge Wedding and Events — Local services in Buford

Beautiful place for a wedding….but any future clients should ensure (1) The A/C system in the reception area is working, and (2) That Stonehedge House has adequate staffing to support the wedding party and guests.

After a 2:00pm wedding in June outside, everyone was brought into a “cooler” reception area where the “new” A/C system was not working. Staff claimed it was working, but no air was flowing from the vents. The newlyweds and guest had to use the same Japanese hand held fans they used during the outside wedding ceremony, to move air during the post wedding ceremony events inside. Also, the guest had to move chairs into the reception room from the outside venue for seating at the tables in the reception room.

We are family members of the beautiful bride, so we toughed it out, but non-family members started leaving early because of the uncomfortable conditions. Staff members were pleasant, but overwhelmed….and for weddings, this wasn’t a super large event. The bride had some of the wedding party team members stand behind her and use their hand fans to cool her. (I doubt you will see those pictures on the Stonehedge website, but that was how hot and uncomfortable it was in the reception room)

For what should be a once in a lifetime event, future clients should ensure everything is in working condition, and the facility guarantees adequate staffing will be in place for the attendees.

I have read the owner’s response and stand by the facts in my review. While on site, when guest where complaining about the lack of A/C, the owner had an excuse for that as well, so not surprised by the response here. Good luck if you select this venue for...

My sister had recently booked this venue for her wedding, and I'm happy to say that we all had a wonderful time. Upon arrival, you will instantly notice how beautifully maintained property is. The outside is picturesque, with its lush, green grass, its assortment of flowers and shrubbery, and tall, vibrant trees that radiate with a natural beauty. The facility director was also kind enough to give me a tour of the inside of the house as well as offer some insight into the history of the property. The director was very knowledgeable about story behind the property, while the house itself was maintained in such a pristine way as to effectively tell the story of its own unique history. Whomever did the job of refitting and redecorating the home did an magnificent job, as they were careful to maintain much of the house's original look, while still fitting modern fixtures for practical business use. This gave the house a melding of the old and the new in a terrifically harmonious way that one would be unlike to find in many places.

The staff was also excellent. The director, photographer, DJ, caterers, and everyone on staff were all very polite and professional. They all took special care to ensure that our needs were met and our visit was a memorable one. They were all very friendly and approachable as well, I never felt discouraged from speaking to one of them or asking for something if needed. It will likely become clear to anyone who visits Stonehedge House that the staff is experienced and passionate in what they do. We are beyond thrilled that we lucked up on finding Stonehedge House to host our wedding but more importantly finding Susan. The very first meeting that we had with her was a pleasant experience. Besides the absolute gorgeousness of this venue, the other thing that we loved was the fact that we were able to do things a little outside of tradition which was so different from just about every other venue that we had visited previously. Susan reminded us that it was our wedding day and we should have it exactly the way we wanted it (music to my ears). The bridal suite is AMAZING and spacious, you get the whole second floor to yourself. The groom’s quarters are also nice!! Most venues that we had visited gave the groom a room the size of a bathroom but at Stonehedge, the men got a spacious suite where they could play cornhole. We signed up for the all-inclusive package which made planning so much easier! The food was delicious! The DJ & photographer were amazing! From the day that we met Susan down to our wedding day, she worked so hard to make our wedding exactly what we wanted it to be even down to helping our photographer with locating the best places to take pictures at the venue.
