Techs were great. Our new system, which we purchased 3 years ago from the same company, seems to have had some compressor problems. It needs to be replaced, which is a bummer, because our last AC was here for 40 years and never needed major repair. But they are going to replace it under warranty, and we just had to pay $90 for the visit. I’m of the opinion that we should not have to pay if the thing is broken, but they are covering parts and labor after the initial visit charge. The technicians were great. The first was polite, thoughtful, and thorough in his assessment. The second was, as well, and they fixed the problem quickly.
Second review, because we had to call Champion again, and the tech asked me to leave him a review so his managers know he did a good job, but he sent me a link to this review that I had written about Champion. That’s so deceptive. The whole system went off line in the same summer that the first review was written. It’s because some pipe got clogged (apparently this is common, and you have to flush it- would have been nice if they taught us that when we installed it), and it shuts off when that happens. A good thing about Champion is they answer the phones on nights and weekends, and they actually come out late on weekdays, as well. So he fixed it, explained the problem, showed us what to do if it happens again. Then he charged us $90, and asked for our consent on the charge, to which we answered that we didn’t really have a choice, but it sucks to have to pay it when we are still paying off the system and this is the second time we’ve had to call them out in a short span of time, in a system that is so new. He waived the charge, which was nice. But I really don’t like being told that we’re reviewing the tech, and then being sent a link to my review of Champion as a company. I took off a star for that. If Champion is paying attention: Robert was great. I appreciate that Champion shows up late, on weekends, all that. I don’t think being asked to amend my review of the company as a way of letting them know the tech did well is a fair practice, and I don’t like that after decades of a faithful old AC, the new one has stopped working twice before I’ve even paid it off, and that the diagnosis of the problem, though the charged was waived for this visit, is so expensive when it is still under warranty. If it is under warranty and it stops working, diagnosis should be a part of the warranty. That’s about integrity. Especially when you have a new unit that stops working more than once in a short...
Read moreI had a co-worker refer Champion to me. Originally, I called them for routine maintenance, but I began experiencing an issue with my A/C system before they could come out. Once the technicians arrived, they dutifully checked it out and eventually diagnosed it as a bad compressor. They looked it up for me and discovered that my compressor was still just barely under the manufacturer's warranty, so we quickly ordered it, and it was installed a few days later. This ultimately did not end up resolving the issue, so Champion sent out a couple of other technicians to put some additional eyes on the system in an attempt to figure out what was going on. The problem ended up being very elusive and not straightforward at all, but Champion did not give up on the situation and diagnostic process, and eventually found out that it was a different (and less expensive) part altogether and not the compressor. Here's where I would give them 10 stars if I could...once Aaron Christiansen realized it was not the compressor, he immediately took ownership on behalf of the company and offered a refund for what I was charged for the compressor replacement. That kind of transparency and honesty is almost unheard of and non-existent these days. It's incredibly sad, but most companies just don't do that anymore, and I was floored by the integrity and the stance that Champion took for the sake of honesty and reliability. From what was explained to me initially, it made sense that the compressor could have been faulty and needed to be replaced, and I am not upset whatsoever at any misdiagnoses or anything like that. I am very appreciative and grateful for all the techs who came by to look at the system, because ultimately they worked as a team to resolve and fix it. It was a very unique problem that required quite a bit of trial and error to figure out, but they eventually got it and offered to make the situation whole by refunding what I paid for something that was not the issue. This is how you earn business and a customer for life, which is what I am now. I will never call another company when it comes to any of my HVAC needs, and I have already referred them to multiple friends. Huge shout out to all the guys that came over and helped me: Miguel, Abel, Joshua, and...
Read moreI moved back into my childhood home in 2014 and I needed a company to service my AC unit on a regular basis. I wanted someone locally owned that I could count on not to try and sell me something every time the technician came out. I definitely found that in Champion AC. I've had several good experiences with them since 2014. Today they installed an entire new AC unit. My technicians were Lance and Garrett. They arrived promptly at 9:30, they were very professional and they worked without a break until the job was complete. The job took the better part of a day and I frequently went outside to check on the progress. Every time I did Lance stopped what he was doing to explain where he was at in the process and how things were going. They answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. They cleaned up all of their mess and removed all of the parts of the old unit. I just cannot say enough good things about Champion and their great technicians. I appreciate the fact that their technicians work for Champion AC, they are not subcontractors. I'm confident that I will get many years of great service out of this professionally installed unit and the great people working at Champion AC. Update 2025: I'm still a Champion customer having the unit serviced today by Gerardo Hernandez who did a good job and is very polite. Thanks again. Update June 2025: Yesterday I discovered the bathroom faucet was leaking. Champion plumbing technician Jesse Serros came out the same day to assess the problem and returned the next day (today) to install a new fixture. He arrived promptly, got straight to work and was done in about 2 hours. He made sure everything was connected correctly and was in good working order and I'm very happy with the result. As long as Champion continues to provide such great service I'll be a...
