Recent terrible, shameful and unexpected experience caused by a new manager who totally lacks knowledge and experience in her position. Their actions totally violate customer service, consumer protection laws and those of citizens in general. Jason has always attended us exceptionally all the time and we appreciate it greatly. Not until a few weeks ago has the subject denied equal service and treatment in general. In the last incident we ordered a board and a bottle of wine for a group of 6-8 people, 15 minutes before they closed without telling us that they would kick us out of the establishment at 10 pm. First she ressed us a table saying that there was no availability when there were 2 available. We took a small table with 2 chairs and for a while when a table for 8 was vacated we changed because other regular customers were about to arrive. In the end, this manager says they have to go and begins to lift the food and the bottle of wine that had barely been opened. Without offering something to take or offering that we sit outside in the courtyard to finish it as we have done before. We were charged badly by including in our account the separate consumption of one of the guests of the group. It was a totally unpleasant experience. As long as she is the manager customers are at high risk of awful experiences. Or was this an incident of decimation because we were the only...
Read moreImpromptu dinner plans and headed to @vineinthevillage to check it out. Happy hour was until 6:30pm and we made it for a couple of drinks.
My husband tried the Alex Pilsner draft from New Braunfels and really enjoyed it. I had a glass of house Pinot Noir. My husband had the Wedge Salad which he shared with Dad and me. Very fresh! Overall, the food was good but don't expect big portions of food. Small tapa plates. We had the Crab Cakes, Hummus Plate, Brisket Pizza and the Philly Cheesesteak. The crab cakes were overpriced and over salted. I would give it 3 stars. The brisket pizza and cheesesteak were tasty. @ginosdeli need not worry. We had the Chocolate Truffles for dessert. The middle was cakey and warm. Dad didn't want his so I'll have the last one with coffee in the morning!
Thursday night is open mic night. It could be really good or not. It was just getting started as we ended our meal so can't really fully weigh in.
There were outdoor seating but the ones available were high tops which would've been difficult for Dad to sit up.
They have wine memberships available for those who want to frequently stop...
Read moreI wanted to treat a friend of mine, recently widowed, to a favorite bar she used to go to with her husband whose businesses were nearby. However, we will never return again. The barmaid told us our wine was $12 a glass. I never looked at the menu, but, let myfriend choose everything. When we received our bill, we were charged $20 a glass, plus for an extra glass we never ordered! In other words, we had 3 glasses and they charged us for 4 at $20 each. With the charcuterie board, at $28, and the wine at $12 a glass, our bill ought to have been around $66. Rather, I was presented with a bill that was over $100!! I really did not want to stand there and argue with the wine maid, who said, " Oh, no, that is $20 a glass", arguing with me about it in front of my grieving friend. I gave her a $100 and walked out. We were both now doubly upset, not only at the passing of my friend's husband, but at the way we were treated at Vine. What makes this entire calamity much worse, is that the owner was standing right there, and did nothing for us, but argued why we should pay the bill as is!! Thoroughly disgusted with...
