I tried to donate about $2000-$3000 worth of fine furniture to this store. They came out twice to pick it up and failed both times. The first time we waited all day for them to arrive but they never showed up. When I called General Manager Paul H. to ask what happened he just said the truck was full and they couldn't pick up any more stuff. I asked why they didn't call me and let me know the situation but he merely said he would reschedule and did not apologize. The second time the truck arrived but was too big to back all the way down our driveway because of obstructing tree limbs leaving about 10-20 feet of extra distance to cart our furniture to the truck on their dolly. The two young workman refused to do the job saying it would take them "hours" to complete the job in view of the extra distance: ridiculous! I offered to let them navigate around the tree on our grass but they refused. One workman kept whining that he would be in danger of slipping on our driveway because the driveway was a little wet from rain: that was also ridiculous. These two lazy guys just wanted to leave and not do the job! My wife made a final attempt to talk to them by flagging them down as they drove off in their large truck. Instead of stopping to talk to her they drove right past my wife almost hitting her with their large truck and not stopping! How incredibly rude and obnoxious! I let them know how I felt about that by leaving a voicemail message on their cellphone calling them out for nearly running over my wife with their truck. Later I called General Manager Paul H. to discuss this but he refused to talk to me claiming that I had been abusive to his two wimpy workmen. This was completely untrue: the two lazy workmen had lied to him about what took place and he foolishly believed them. We were only polite in trying to get them to complete the job. We will give our furniture to the Salvation Army instead. Do not donate to this organization that is unappreciative, disorganized, and will waste your time while you wait all day for them to NOT pick up...
Read moreSeven years ago, the older Manager, very sweet and caring man, set, prices, on items, that people who were struggling could afford. Now, all this merchandise which IS given Free to them, is pretty much out of reach for regular low income people.. It seems like the Palm Coasters who donate it, may be the only ones who can afford it now. The new Manager made these differences. Ask anyone in the area, who is poverty level,or low income-they will agree, they are WAY too expensive now. They have storage sheds full of things, should they run short, which, they never do. Impossible to find a good deal on a good item anymore, is priced more like consignment stores. You MIGHT get a deal on something they dont deem as-valuable, like a bowl or an old lamp, a book. Anything else, out of reach for low income people, someone from Habitat, not local, should take a VERY close look at this store compared...
Read moreA total rip off. Don't Donate or Purchase anything from this location. These people are crooks hiding behind a tax shelter. I find it hard to believe they are actually helping people by building homes. The employees are rude and dishonest.. They damaged the furniture when delivering and refused to refund my money. Then the manager, Kenny, told me he was giving me a $200 credit instead of a full refund, When I went to the store a few weeks later to used the credit , I was told that Kenny no longer worked there. The new manager said he did not know of the credit. He refused to check any records or call anyone to verify my credit. I asked that they call Kenny since he wad worked for them for 9 years and the new manager claimed they did not have his phone number. He told me I lying and yet refused to make any effort to confirm what I...
