First off this is for the "Halloween Town" store and not the costume store cause I never have been there to be fair! But THE STORE itself is so over rated with the most simple cheap made in China items selling for such ridiculous prices but worst of all the customer service is "awful" and I wouldn't go back there if they paid me! I'd rather go to random shops in Hollywood or where ever and get better stuff for better prices without dealing with rude female staff accusing me and my girl of shoplifting when I was there with a few hundred to spend on my girl but they felt they still had to call the police and have them show up and check us which was pretty embarrassing for one and two there was nothing found on neither of us and we still were treated disrespectfully with out an apology from the police or the store even though I kept my composure the whole time! But I guess they must be overwelmed with customers to not care how they treat customers the way they do? But I'm not speaking about all there staff cause as the police were called when I actually was paying for something having a good conversation with another employee who seemed pretty knowledgeable and cool when some cops came and interrupted and other staff surrounded me and went and grabbed my girl while she was still looking at stuff and then took us outside and checked my girlfriend and I for any items to only find out that they were imagining things and there was nothing taken and then I find out there's been many similar situations with the staff acting like that with other's cause they looked young and maybe like they couldn't afford anything in the store knowing how over priced they are. LOL They suck and should be boycotted... I wouldn't of bothered writing this but I used to like...
Read moreThere is nothing quite like Burbank's Halloween Town. This year round Halloween store sells everything you can imagine that is Horror or Halloween related. I get 70% of my clothing here, haha. They have amazing T-shirts that come in many sizes. If the owners are reading this, I'd love for them to try to get more shirts in 3X. They have a great selection, but the ones I love most tend to stop at 2X. They have toys, books, collectibles, clothing, props, bags, accessories, and even have a nice sized art gallery in the back. They have some really cool original props from Disney's Haunted Mansion! In fact, you can see one of the "hitchhiking ghosts" from the ride just outside their door telling you to come inside!
I almost gave this place 4 stars because they are rather pricey and a lot of what they sell could be had for cheaper online... BUT when a place is this one-of-a-kind, I feel like they get a little leeway.
While street parking exists... don't forget that they have a rather large private lot behind the store, so parking shouldn't be a problem. Their hours tend to change seasonally, so make sure you call to see if they're open!
They are so popular, that they actually have two other locations that are within walking distance... one that is costumes only and a kids store. So you won't find many costumes at this original location... but this is still the mothership location that has the amazing ambience and gallery in the back! Everyone should check out Halloween Town at some point... and if you're like me, you'll...
Read moreLet me start by saying I love this store. Everything in here brings me joy. However, the way the check out system is run is absolutely stupid. I asked one of the numerous employees if I could have them pull the shirts I wanted so that when I went to check out they were ready to go. I was told the cashier would do it. The shirts are all behind the counter so you can’t check them on your own for size or anything. There was a lot of people in the store and the line was decently long. So when it was my turn I had to hold up the line to have the cashier find the size I needed for each shirt I wanted. So as the line is building behind me and the cashier is clearly not happy because he looked annoying and wouldn’t even look at me, I just finished up and decided not to even get all the shirts I wanted. On top of that, there was a necklace and earrings that were being held for me at the front and he only got the necklace and left the earrings out. I didn’t even bother saying anything at that point because I wasn’t about to ask this dude for something else. It’s worth mentioning that there were at least 3 other employees behind the counter at this time. One eventually hopped on register to help but I seriously do not understand why they would put the whole thing on this one dude when they were just standing there talking to each other? Maybe look into...
