2022.03-27/SUN_1700: Came here for a surprise birthday party so we arrived early to grab some tables since it's self serve! All three dining rooms were open. There are many places to dine. There are many two-top tables outside and three dining rooms in the inside. One is attached to the deli, then there's a more private dining room next to that one, then there's another dining room back by the bathrooms which is attached to another dining room that is on a patio!
Being that they are known for their authentic Italian food, I knew that their tomato-based sauce must be stewed for hours so I decided to take a gamble. I'm highly allergic to tomatoes but if they cook their sauce for hours, I may be able to eat it. Sure enough, I was able to eat it! Wooooo hoooo!
We got the Chicken Parmesan, a side of seven meatballs, a side of the meat sauce and a side of the mushroom salad. They had real Chicken Parmesan that wasn't breaded! Deliciousness! It couldn't be more perfect. If you're on a keto, carnivore or high protein diet, this restaurant can accommodate it! Now, we'll definitely be back! I had to remove Italian cuisine out of my diet due to the tomatoes. I'm ecstatic right now!
The best part of the Monte Carlo Delicatessen/Pinocchio restaurant is the market that is attached to it. They have all kinds of Italian desserts like Gelato and Cannolis. They also have everything you need to make Italian food that is imported like their Sesame Breadsticks. You can purchase their dough, sauces and meatballs. It's a deli so they have deli meats you can purchase by the pound and fresh cheeses that are also made in-house! They also have a huge wine selection and I found my favorite Chianti that I wasn't able to find anywhere but here and another restaurant that's called Micelli's.
Love this place. It's a definite gem in Burbank!

Read moreYou get a lot of food, not always a whole lot of flavor. Their pizza is honestly pretty bad. Very greasy and bland. Their pasta, meatballs, sausage and sides are solid. Sandwichs are good but their bread a little too thick to take a proper bite sometimes. They offer a variety of bottles soft drinks, beers, and wine.
The restaurant really crushed it with its ambiance. One area is a pizza parlor, the smaller room feels like you're inside a wine cellar, the largest room that is more cafeteria style, and there is a small outdoor terrace as well. Throughout most of these sections are murals from the Italian classic "Pinocchio" (Pleasure Island, Monstro, his transformationinto a real boy, etc). What I love about these murals is that they didn't use the typical Disneyfied version of the characters. They have clear bathrooms, too, which is a huge plus.
Conjoined is their Italian market where you can buy fresh sliced deli meats & cheeses, get scoops of Gelato, and buy a wide array of Italian imports. This section is also themed to Pinocchio, but with actual marionettes of the...
Read moreI use to like coming here over arcade ago but this place has really gone down. From the food to the cleanliness of the restaurant. I think the most disturbing of all the customer service! I don’t know if they are ex cons but they talk and act they are. They look like they just got out of bed and the ones serving the food look very dingy. I called and left a message for the owner who by the way never called me back because the experience I had with a Hispanic man preparing my pasta. The pasta was dry and hardly had sauce I explained I don’t have a problem paying extra but there was no sauce to begin with he argued with me and made me feel very uncomfortable in front of the other people in line. Then proceeded to go in the back and tell everyone’s they are now looking at me m. I haven’t seen one woman in here, maybe that’s why are like that, maybe they are sexist. I don’t recommend this place it’s not clean and the staff are not nice and it looks like they haven’t dusted since I have been here over a decade ago. The decor is ok just dirty, I think the best part...
