If I know what I need, I shop at The Green Man. If I don’t know what I need yet, I shop at The Green Man. I’ve been shopping here for a couple of years and I always find something new and irresistible and inspiring whenever I come in, especially books! Their apothecary is incredibly well stocked, and you can get things here for spellwork that you can’t find anywhere else. Like the perfect consistency glitter for your candle spell, and the perfectly carve-able candle and a jar while you’re at it! Their incense blends are fantastic, and powerful. Made by witches for witches INDEED! What I love most about The Green Man is that wherever you are on your path, this place supports you. You can be a complete beginner and feel welcomed. You can be someone who occasionally wants a reading, and the readers here are fantastic. You can be someone who wants a Rider Waite deck, or a crystal, or shopping for a gift for someone witchy in your life, or you can be a full blown, naked moon-dancing, cauldron-firing, spellcrafting witch and find everything you need here. But above all else, I probably spend the most money here on classes. The knowledge I’ve gained in a couple of years is comparable to my college degree, and the refreshingly genuine vibe is REAL. This is information that will change your life if you are ready to apply it and work it for yourself. And as a bonus, I even made some new friends here, which is notoriously difficult for over-30 introverts like me! I’ve rambled on, but if you’re looking for real magic in Los Angeles, it’s here. I hope you do something nice for yourself and check out this gem of a place,...
Read moreThey have cooler stuff here than other metaphysical shops I’ve visited in LA. Very good selection of mostly everything (candles, incense, cards, crystals, etc.) Personally, I see myself returning mostly because they carry stuff I don’t see in other shops, but not so much because of the ambiance or the service. Service wasn’t bad or anything just felt dry. The person who greeted us did offer to help in a very straightforward way, but I just prefer to be left alone when I shop - especially for ritual supplies. Since the shop is quite small and the greeter just kept floating around, I just felt pressured/rushed and a weird vibe overall. Hopefully it was just me...The cashier was nice though, so I think I’m gonna give this place another shot on a different day. Also, again it comes down to personal preference, but the music was distracting...electro/house vibes and not really in line with the ambiance I expected based on how this place looks. Anyway cool place, just don’t think it will become my #1 location for...
Read morePlace has great vibes and great staff. The three stars come from a severe overcharge they did on a $7 dollar macrame necklace, which I figure they did to recoup the cost on some other items we received/maybe a tip. I would have gladly left a tip without this overcharge of $62 bucks, but they are a small shop and I want to support. I was also pretty far away from the shop and looked at the receipt too late, so please remember to check your receipt if you don't want to leave any involuntary tips XD
P.S. They are very friendly to out-of-towners. We liked the selection and variety they had. The place is fairly popular and began getting quite full when we were there. There was so much to look through and discuss, we spent over an hour poring over their inventory. If you go, please be friendly and add to the good vibes ✨️ 💕
P.S.S. On the receipt, you can see some of their other prices and what they are...
