Bullpen Burbank — Local services in Burbank

I dont usually write reviews but thought I should because it was just a contrasting experience from the shop across the street which I had just left from.

I had just come out from the new location of the burbank shop where every employee...including the owner went out of their way to say hello and make sure you were taken care of. I was walking to my car and realized bullpen was there...a card place I was familiar with from watching breaks.

I walked in to the shop, which was a normal sized typical local card shop...saw three employees just hanging behind the glass, not really doing much but looked at us with no facial expression and looked back down at their phones or whatever. I said hello directly at the one in front and got no response back. It was just weird... I make my way down the cases and neither of the other two people there said anything. I left within 5 minutes, said my thanks and left.

Typically it wouldn't bother me much but it was just a different type of experience after spending a couple hours at burbank cards where everyone was welcoming, and not really in a hurry to leave to a place I just didnt...

I started coming here last year around October, and have gone almost every weekend since. I actually stopped going to other hobby shops and made this one my main one! This place is truly a gem in Burbank. The three employees, Dustin, Alfredo, and David are so kind, helpful, and most of all, energetic! Even if you're new to collecting, or don't know much about the hobby, they'll do their best to explain and help you out! This is the main reason i'm a repeat customer. At other shops, i've encountered snobby/annoyed employees when you ask questions or make it known that you're new to the hobby. However, these three employees at Bullpen greet EVERYONE who walks through the door, and are always attentive to customers' questions and needs. They definitely go above and beyond for all customers. They're also very kid friendly! They have a great selection of Pokemon and sports card, with great prices! I've never left empty handed. I've recommended this place to friends and family, and now even they became regular customers too. Overall, it's a very cozy, comfortable, and friendly environment. 10/10 would recommend for a...

After opening up a sealed Lorcana starter deck purchased from this location, I immediately began to feel something was off. The supposedly brand new deck was wrapped in wax paper, with one of the more valuable cards (Foil Peter Pan, Lost Boy Leader, 82/204) completely absent from the deck. I will no longer be returning to this location to purchase cards and I will not be recommending this shop to others. Borderline scummy behavior.

Edit: I've also attached a photo of the paper the deck was wrapped in. I've never seen any new Lorcana decks, let alone any new TCG starter decks in general wrapped with this kind of paper.
