I can’t wait to Thumb up 👍 this sweet and professional facility right after discharged with well recovery from a whole stomach removal surgery. The name of this facility is Pennysula Post Acute (PPA) where has 62 dual bed rooms and some single rooms. To find an ideal recovery place is so important to me. I started to visit this facility about three more months ago. The smiling receptionist referred me to “Rein” . First, I must pass my deep appreciation to Rein who is the marketing director. She nicely introduced this site with very detailed introduction and provided future contact information. So, the complicated transition from hospital simplified by one call to settle all without any gaps, plus pick up me from hospital. She even taking care of on every step with key instruction during my staying. Seeing is believing! Experiencing is trusting. This facility has great management. Each director in charge of specified field and even having “feed back” channel to put patients’ satisfaction on top of it. Snow, the activity director is very active to organize various of entertainment, such as singer in their beautiful yard, singer to your room and volunteer to bring dogs to heal residents mind… PPA’s Social service team plays important tool to coordinate each transition and solving the requested help till patient’s discharge. Shirley is always working so hard with every issues. This facility had its own interior physical therapy site. You can get every day’s practice with their very nice assistance. Johnny’s team discovered lots of my potential “skills”… I can’t forget the super nice “Speech Therapy” person “Ray” who watched my “swallow” each day and adjusted my food menu with Dietitian, Thanks a lot from my heart. By the way, I am very glad to meet Bella, she is always remind me to protect the surgery area and body status during Therapy. Thank you so much! This facility also has strong nurse team and CNA team for 24 hours services under the supervision of director Aurora. I am here to appreciate all of your nurses and CNA persons caring with a kind and sweet heart. Just list some of the names: Sophia, Matthew, Miya, Christine, Senior CNA Maria, Nancy and more… Thanks for all persons involved in my recovery period.

Read moreOk, After 32 days at Mills- Peninsula Hospital, I transitioned here for 7 days. Feb 14-23. I was very weak. I was transported here at 12:30 pm on Friday. It was the lunch hour. I repeatedly asked for lunch. I had nothing at hospital. Finally, they brought a meal at 2:30. Then, the first dinner night- no meal tray. I barely could walk asking for dinner. No one knew what to do. 8:30, someone found scrambled eggs. The second day of 8 -Saturday, my lunch was my roommates lunch and she had to wait an extra hour while they hunted for it. Saturday night Day 2. No dinner tray again. I barely could walk trying to find out what happened. Night shift ignored. Then Day 3, Sunday morning- no breakfast tray. 3 missed meals never replaced. I asked for the manager ( Sunday) because I was so hungry. I had lost so much weight a month in hospital until dialysis was started 4 days before POST. I found manager, barely could walk end hallway and said unacceptable 3 missed meals. I was crying. My family lives 2,000 miles away and had only me to advocate. They act different when family members are there. At night, the CNA do not come when called by call button. My sheets / gown were drenched w night swears/ medical. I froze because of this. I was alert, and a couple of times, I pointed they were giving me the wrong dose that renal doctor had put in computer and other meds. Because I was alert, but weak, advocating for my health without family. there, some young staff members, so called nurses, and people sitting at desks, very sassy when I asked questions concerning contact w renal doc and dialysis, meds that needed to be on time. There is miscommunication when they were scheduling my first outpatient dialysis 3x a week. Compared to the hospital of 32 days, I slept better. I really think the food is great... when it came. Facility is nice. Terrible (no) care at night. Garden is super. Daytime CNA Zach the most caring person. The PT was great. Contracted 3rd party. In all they skipped 3 meals...
Read moreMy mother received appallingly terrible care at Peninsula Post-Acute. She rang for assistance in getting to the bedside commode during the night; the call was not answered and she fell trying to get to the commode by herself. Another time she was left sitting on the commode for over an hour. On more than one occasion, the commode was not emptied for several hours. She often did not receive her medications in a timely manner. She was not offered a shower or bed bath until she had been in the facility for several days, and then not on a regular basis after that. She was not treated with courtesy and respect by more than one employee of the facility. I have no idea how this facility gained the rating they claim to have achieved from Medicare. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. If I could give a negative star rating I would.
Addendum in response to Shane McCormack's answer to my review: It is kind of late to say you wish to address my concerns now, since my mother passed away about 3 weeks ago. While I do not blame Peninsula Post-Acute for her demise, I cannot in all honesty say your facility did much to prevent it. Your response the first time I left a message for you was welcome and gave me hope that my mother's care would improve. I was very disappointed when that did not prove to be the case. I left other messages for you that were never returned. As a matter of fact, I did not hear from you again until the loss of some valuable personal belongings could have possibly been traced to your facility. That leads me to believe the expressed concern is nothing more than a sham. I certainly wish I had had the chance to check out Peninsula Post-Acute before my mother was transferred there. It is not a facility in which I would place anyone, with the possible exception of the people who feel it merits a...
