Used to love coming to Little Lucca's up until my last two visits..
Two-Three weeks later 2) I tell my friend about this sandwich spot and they said they have never been so I was excited to bring them knowing the sandwiches are huge and amazingly good.. We both ordered Turkey and Bacon sandwiches and when my friend bites into his sandwich he finds wax paper. The same wax paper for the Turkey portions that they make. He ended up swallowing a piece of it. We go back and what I guess was the manager on duty asked me "well what do you want" great customer service... I asked for my money back and the same women who was working the register for last time only gave me $11 for a sandwich that cost me 11.75 plus tax. I was irate. This women really must be dumb and needs to be fired. I told her this sandwich cost me 11.75 plus tax! Why do you only give me 11 dollars! And she turned to the manager in confusion and he told her something in Spanish and she handed me another dollar... Definitely the last time I am going to waste my time going here. The sandwiches were great and all but really not worth this shity service from people who cant even speak English.. it shouldn't be this difficult it's...
Read moreIf you don't mind waiting and I mean really waiting this is the place for you. If the line is to the door, and it usually is, expect to wait at least an hour. They need to stop taking phone orders. Your phone order might only take 30 mins in the same conditions (so you can effectively cut half the line).
The food is good otherwise. If your work is buying or you don't have to wait in line it's excellent. If you go during off hours, it's good. If you go from 10:30 - 4, on the weekend expect to wait a long time (more than an hour). If you go on a weekday expect to wait a long time from 10:30 to 2:45. Otherwise it's reasonable. Though sometimes they randomly close early. Beware, it's usually a very long wait but the food is good.
The sandwiches are large. The ingredients are premium. Besides the wait and the unfair priority given to phone orders, it's good (the staff are nice too).
That said, if you don't want or don't care about their garlic sauce or hot pepper sauce, you would be better served by other delis (ones that can serve your order to you in less than an hour). There are equivalently good delis in Pacifica, and San Mateo (delis that use the same premium breads, meats and cheeses). This is just like any other top-quality deli but with their special sauces. If all you want is a great deli sandwich go somewhere else unless you don't mind waiting. Their prices are about the same as other top-quality delis in the area.
If the owner of the deli is reading this, please, please, please for the love-of-god hire a process engineer to help you re-arrange the floor plan and adjust the customer ordering process. You will be able to serve more people in less time with the same amount of staff. You will be able to have more staff working at the same time too. Yes I know this would be expensive but the local population is only growing so you can expect demand to remain strong or stronger going forward. You will earn more money and have...
Read moreUpdate: FOR HERE AT 3:45PM!!! Dude forces the door shut in front of me to make sure i don't try to come in. I would strongly suggest getting here by 3:30pm because APPARENTLY 4pm closing is actually 3:40-ish? Seriously, you want to close 3:45pm, just update your time. Don't put 4pm and shut people out by 3:45pm. It is reasonable to expect to get a sandwich 5-10min before closing. Almost all places allow this except Little Lucca's. I'm done with this BS. Last time was 3:58pm. Fine. 2min till closing (even though i called). But 15min till?! Unreasonable. For 2 sandwiches. Not 100. Two. You just lost at least a monthly customer and I'll make sure to mention the rude treatment today to all my friends and suggest they go elsewhere.
(Original review) The sandwiches here are amazing! Been craving their sandwich for 2 weeks now. Called at 3:50pm to try to order a sandwich telling them I'll be there right before 4pm to pick it up. I was told, "no more phone orders. Come in and we'll take your order." Okay. I let them know I'm coming. Get here at 3:58pm as promised, "no more orders." The thing says they close at 4pm. I would appreciate some effing consistency. I drive 35min to get a sandwich, try to phone order it, had my arrival timed to the minute, even called you guys to try to have it ready 10min 'til closing, and no sandwich. If you close at 3:55pm, please list that. You say 4pm, i call, you say 4pm and it's okay to come at 3:58pm, i come at 3:58pm and get turned away, i get VERY irritated. If i didn't call, no problem. But i called and confirmed with you guys. That's...
