I had breakfast nearby and was looking for a good dessert spot and found this.
I saw the picture of the Easter macarons and wanted to possibly get it. It's definitely cute but a little pricey. I get it takes time to make it, but I didn't really have anyone to give it to that can appreciate it.
This place was a little hard to find. It's located in a medical building. The only way I knew where it was, there was a sign outside of the building.
The store itself is nice, I'm guessing they haven't been there that long? Decor is nice. I just felt like it was a little cramped.
I came shortly after they opened. One of the ladies who took my order was super nice. I didn't get her name, but my guess is she's one of the owners. She was definitely helpful in helping me decide what to order.
I ordered:
Mango matcha latte - I was surprised that it had real mango bits in it. Once mixed together, you can taste the mango and matcha separately, but it was the perfect blend. It's not super sweet, but you can still taste the mango with the matcha.
Mochi muffins flavors (in order that I like and highly recommend). These were still nice and warm when I purchased it.
#1. Strawberry matcha - Has bits of fresh strawberry. Perfect balance of tart and sweet. Consistency of the muffin was light and couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't
#2. Pandan- Lightly sweet but didn't have a significant taste.
#3. Almond sesame - This was good. It just had a strong almond taste. I wasn't really a fan.
Macarons (in order that I liked and highly recommend)
#1. Matcha Strawberry - my new favorite. Sad, I only got one. It was light and not overly sweet like you would get sick of it at most places. Just like the lady said.
#2. Strawberry - I typically go for chocolate first, but this strawberry was tasty. It wasn't the artificial nesquik strawberry flavor, but it was way better if that makes sense.
#3. Chocolate - Creamy and not overly decadent or rich
#4. Oreo - to be honest, it was ok. Sometimes, I feel that oreo gets played out with so many things nowadays. I couldn't taste it.
#5. Can't recall flavor
#6. Almond- just like the mochi muffins, strong flavor just not for me.
I definitely want to come back and try the sandwiches and other dessert items.
Super surprised they had utz chips, I've only found them in...
Read moreWe went for boba drinks, which were perfectly fine and prices were quite reasonable. They have some tasty-sounding sandwiches on their menu which we might try next time.
They have somewhat unusual hours for boba because the location is in an medical office building - at the time of this review they close daily at 3p and aren't open on the weekend (edit: right after I posted this I saw that they are open on some Saturdays this holiday season). Also note that it is on a one way street that is effectively an El Camino frontage road. We got there around 1:30p on a rainy Wednesday and there was no line. The building does have a parking garage but I didn't look to see if it is controlled or not. We were able to find parking on the street right out front without any trouble.
I would probably rate them a 4+ - my palate for tea is not that discriminating so it might not be possible for a boba place to distinguish itself enough to get a 5 from me based on quality alone. But with the favorable prices, the very friendly staff, and our hope for the success of this independent local business, I'll give them the benefit of the extra partial star....
Read moreThis is not a restaurant. Itâs just a corner cafe with two ladies and they are very rude. The food is so so. You also need wait for more than 30 minutes to get just typical sandwiches because they need take care of their old friends. This is not a new customer friendly store. The high rate view here are definitely not accurate. Avoid this small messy and slow cafe for breakfast or brunch.
Response to the feedback of my review: you can see the owner ladies are trying so hard to find excuses for their bad services. They told us in the beginning we need waiting for 20 minutes and slowly increasing to 30 minutes. I saw many other people who came late and order after me get what they need before me. They are still trying to cover their bad services. The owner treats customers differently based on your skin colors. They are not welcome new customer. The place is messy and small. After more than 30 minutes waiting, the food is so so too. Avoid this place if you want find a delicious local breakfast or...
