April Cornell — Local services in Burlington

Great experience shopping at April Cornell. I just came to VT for a few weeks this summer and came upon the summer Attic sale. Perfect time to shop. Lots of fun merchandise.

Sangita helped me with several dresses. The shop has sizes from xs to W2 and they also have a very close eye on inventory so they can see what is in the warehouse. I ended up with one dress and as I was leaving spotted another in the upstairs which would be perfect for a 95th b-day luncheon. Sangita found the very last one in my size. She knew the exact dress I was talking about just from my description and it too was on sale. It was a little over $100 but it is perfect for the occasion and something that will last a very long time. So if a dress lasts five or more years and you enjoy wearing it $100 is a bargain.

Can’t imagine locals do not know about the GREAT sales at April Cornell’s store where items were 50% off and more. I found one dress with ruffles that was $20. I would call that a GREAT price for a dress which was originally over $125.

I also drove back 2 days later and picked up some houseware items that I had hesitated about but realized the colors were perfect for my bedroom. I am going use a floral tablecloth on top of my solid color comforter for extra color and make pillowcases from the same patterned square tablecloth.

From tea towels to tablecloths with paisley and bold flowers and lots of neat gifts...I had a wonderful time and so did my dog as Sangita was very sweet to him and ran upstairs while pulling dresses to get him a treat. I visited the April Cornell store in Asheville NC and absolutely loved it. Shopping there was a delight as the store is aesthetically inviting. All her items were thoughtfully selected and nicely displayed. I fell in love with most items and struggled to narrow my choices to just a few. April’s son was running the shop and was very nice and extremely helpful. I purchased a table cloth and tea towels with the Beautiful Blooms pattern for a friend’s new home. I loved them so much I purchase additional pieces from this collection for myself later online. The quality of the fabric and April’s own print was excellent. We have been ordering online because we do not live in Vermont and the clothing is great, the fabrics are great but here's the thing. We tried making a return after purchasing several thousand dollars in clothes online and she refused to give us a refund. We are only returning tless than 20 percent of the clothes purchased because the sizing is a bit weird and I’m the usually a size medium but I have been wearing extra smalls lately or larges and it’s really hectic with the sizing. Also she never answers the phone and isnt specifying why she won't take back the clothes and refuses to issue refunds.. My parents have been loyal an actually wanted to further support her business.
