Big O Smokehouse — Local services in Caledonia Charter Township

Took some venison to the Smokehouse to have some jerky and sticks made. The sticks were awesome but I wish I could say the same for the jerky. To say the jerky was terrible might be giving it more credit than it deserves. The taste was terrible, it was not dried long enough and I've never had jerky sliced so thick. Some pieces were over an inch thick. Tastes more like a roast that someone didn't know how to cook. I bragged about the sticks to my friends but I wouldn't fed the jerky to my dogs. 20# of jerky I will have to throw away. Can't say I would ever go back there again. I didn't even mention the fact that they called me to pick up my order and when I got there they only had the sticks done and not the jerky, so I had to make a second trip to pick up the rest of my order. 45+ miles one way. One trip to take the meat over to have processed and two trips to pick up my order....

If I could, I would add 5 stars for everything I've tried here over the many years I've been a customer. I give 100 stars for the cajun smoked salmon jerky, Soooo Good!

The service is always exceptional and the selection of meats, fish, dips & snacks is super fresh and fantastic. It is a nice, clean facility in a great location. The staff is always great to work with and very knowledgeable regarding all of their products.

By far the best smokehouse I have been to, and I've sampled products around the world. Keep up the great work Big...

Very friendly atmosphere !! Clean , neat , very organized ! Prices run average !! Just tried the regular Buffalo sticks , a little spicy and and a little chewy but not to bad !! I also bought red rasberry jam and salami and blueberry crisp to try later it's a 2 person serving size ! !!
