Fresh County Market — Local services in Calumet Township

For some reason they always decide to close their store 25 minutes before their actual closing time regardless of what times google say they close which is usually a bit annoying but this one time in particular, I left something important in the store and came back to retrieve the item. Not only was I not allowed back into the store (even though I had more than enough time according to google) but because their employees were so eager to get end their shifts they wouldn’t even go back into the store to check and see the item could be found or see if it was found at all throughout the day. I can understand if they were so busy that they couldn’t do it but there were only like 4 other customers in the store at this time and they hadn’t even locked their doors yet. Both the employees and the security guard denied me any way of retrieving my item, basically telling me to come back another day.

What’s the point in having hours of business set online if your staff can just decide to not follow...

I haven't been here in almost 7 1/2 years because I spent the last 7 years and 4 months in Indianapolis, but now that I have relocated back to Gary I can't wait to go. I used to shop here all the time before I moved to Indy, and their prices were great. I never had a problem with them all the times I shopped there except one time I bought some chicken wings that were clearly spoiled and rancid and had to throw them away. I don't know what their prices are like now, but before I left I would go once each pay period and spend around $70 and get enough food for a week including steak, pork chops, ground beef, and chicken. Normally we have a good experience here but tonight a security guard was being rude because my three year old grabbed a banana and was eating it he said she can't be doing that and we aplogized for that and we said we would be buying it regardless and even tho we said that he made us stop shopping and tried to get us kicked out for our three year old eating a banana that we were gonna pay for and the owner comes up and says the guard said we were trying to discard of it we got livid bc y would we do that so we said check ur cameras that is not what we were doing the guard follwoedbus around the store and then tried to get us kicked out just bc our three year old...
