This message is for all my Valparaiso Porter county families. This is a must try!! Yes it’s a bit of a drive however it’s worth every minute :-) the food is so good!! The wings were smoked and seasoned perfectly, the rice was actually packed with flavor, and ever better the sweet potato soufflé was Devine. Who ever was running the truck today 9-13-25 they were fabulous!! Love the woman’s vibe who took my order and the man who was cooking was really fabulous as well. I wish we had something like this in Valparaiso:-( these people know exactly what they are doing. Making food this good should be illegal!! We will be returning for sure:-) Valparaiso!!! We just got to Gary, IN from the Quad Cities and knew we wanted to try this place based on reviews and our love of Island food. We stopped to chat before running in the grocery and were greeted by the wonderful owners. We had quite the conversation about all kinds of things and travel. We got back and ordered our food. I'm a non meat eater and when I mentioned I didn't eat meat, they were quick to say they can fix me an island taco. It had rice, island slaw and other stuff and they were fabulous. JerkMAICA is a neatly done and attractive food truck that sits in a lot by the Dunes highway near Gary, Indiana. We are so glad we chose to find it on a little detour off I-65 to see the Lake Michigan beach there. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the variety of menu items is creative, with all choices a HIT! We tried the plantain--delicious, the kabobs, the "burger" and the Rasta Pasta. Also, my husband opted for the wonderful and refreshing hibiscus/ginger/lime lemonade, and was most pleased.
