My partner and I wanted something special for our wedding rings. Nothing mass-manufactured, with ethically sourced materials - that was really important to us! When I found out about Meeka, we decided to walk in and check it out. We were immediately greeted by Monica, and we told her that we saw these beautiful rings with feminine faces on the Meeka website that we wanted for our wedding bands. They didn't have any in the store at that moment but Monica happened to be wearing one, so she showed it to us and it was so beautiful in person. To me, Meeka jewelry is the opposite of traditional or mainstream bling. The artist’s touch is unmistakable and a big part of the charm and value. Though chic and fashionable for today, I think this jewelry has a creative line harkening back to little shops in 1800s Paris or eastern Europe and artists of the Art Deco, Art Nouveau, or the 1850s English Arts and Crafts traditions. Meeka jewelry would be great with a fancy gold lamé or red satin dress… But it would be just as lovely if your idea of fancy dress is a roomy silk shirt, a sleek skirt and fun heels. I love the uniqueness of the jewelry at this fantastic boutique! So much fine jewelry looks cookie cutter but not the gorgeous baubles here. I love that the pieces selected for the boutique are handcrafted by artists and are not mass produced. A lot of the work looks inspired by nature. The earrings I got from there are birds that are holding egg shaped turquoise gems.

The owner, Monika, also displays her work in the shop. I met Monika while shopping there and she's super friendly and able to help you find whatever you need.
