I finally got back to Target after a few months of online shopping, and was happily surprised with the new layout of apparel, shoes and accessories grouped by style. It had the feel of several different boutiques alongside larger departments for those wanting to shop all shoes or handbags. Each boutique had its own clearance section, so it wasn't a massive mishmash of every size, style and season.
The rest of the store was more well spaced, and well lit, but it was all very clean. The checkouts were more accessible than I've experienced at some other stores.
As a wheelchair user, I depend on the availability and readiness of the scooter-carts. Although they're provided at nearly all grocery and discount stores, there are not always any charged scooters available. Especially on weekends and evenings, those that are available, are often almost out of energy, leaving an immobile shopper stranded until a charged scooter can be brought over.
I was delighted to get one that was fully charged, clean and relatively easy to operate. I had one problem using it. I had to use the restroom. The entrance is a bit of a maze. Instead of going straight into the restroom, there's a double turn left then right and right to reach the stalls and sinks.
Both of the first turns aren't much longer than the length of the scooter and will block other shoppers entering or exiting. After lots of scrapes and near misses, I finally got in front of the stalls but the distance between the door and the sink and the 90 degree angle to enter made it impossible to get the scooter in and out again. If there was a more accessible restroom, I didn't see it.
Otherwise, my review would...

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back. Chick fila if you don't care about their owner's pov of gay rights. Also AT&T which is great if your a customer. But not so great if you are a Sprint customer. Couldn't load webpage too much texted script. Sorry. I ramble sometimes. What's weird is a good amount of people won't make it this far. Congrats to you. Hope its appetizing to your soul. Rambling again, oh yeah. I hafta to say but the people that i found here are some of the worst mankind has to offer. The nerve of some people. Not employees but the tourist shoppers and/or lookie-lous. Driving slow đ. Incapable of following street signs or having commonsense. I can deal with stupid. Only the ones that are rude even when being polite is easier. The Dismissives or the "Me, Me, Me's". Hey there buddy, I'm being polite to people. Can't be too hard. In conclusion, I give this place 3 outta 5 stars and an award for best picture. It was an actual picture. Of Hulk. All green with veins poking out. Just ready to...
Read moreOn the northwest corner of Santa Barbara and Veterans Parkway, this is a very busy shopping center. With Publix, Lowe's and Target, there are a lot of comings and goings. There are entrances from both major roads, though crossing over three lanes of Santa Barbara is quite dangerous. If you're headed north on Santa Barbara, make the turn and enter from Veterans even though you'll be driving a bit out of your way.
It is a clean and open shopping center with some low landscaping and also tall palm trees. There is lighting throughout.
The entrance at the east side is closest to Publix so expect some unprepared and unaware drives to go past the supermarket faster than they should and not stopping for...
