I want to say I had a positive experience at this place, but I am a little disappointed in my visit today. I stopped by the Book Rack for the first time today, and was greeted by a woman. She asked what I was looking for, and I shared that I haven't taken time to read a book in many years and was hoping to get back into it. I looked through the store and asked about a book on a display. Since this is a used bookstore, I asked her if there was a used version available. She laughed at me and told me I was funny. I stated back that I knew nothing about the book and it was just recommended to me by a friend. She continued to laugh at me, tell me that was funny and apparently she was on the phone with a friend during this exchange and then told her friend what I said, and how funny it was.    Read moreMy favorite place to get books! There's used and new ones, and the place is organized so you're not just digging through a shelf full of whatever while hoping to find a gem. The staff are super helpful and nice. None of them have ever made me feel like a burden when I ask for assistance or recommendations. They'll order books for you, too. So if you're looking for something specific, they can usually get it for you in a week or two. They also have an account system where they log what books you've purchased, so if you try to buy a book twice, they'll let you know, and you can also bring books back for store credit.
The Book Rack is the only place I get books. They're a treasure to have in our area and I hope they stay forever. When my family visits, we always end up in the store because they love the shop just as...
Read moreRipoff Alert! I took 42 nice new books into this store with a cover value over $800 and was offered $44 credit that could only be used towards purchase of a new book and you have to pay 25% of their price on the book. Even worn and ripped paperback bathroom books are $3.50-$7.50 so you pay more than the book is worth and they get yours for free! They use amazon and online competitors to tell you your book is worthless and then ask 300% over what Amazon charges with free two day shipping. Avoid like the plague they were smug and had bad customer service when challenged. They don't care about your business unless they...
