My mom really wanted my son to wear a tux for his senior prom. She has always been pleased with the quality of the clothes she purchased at Garber’s (for my son and for my late father) so she took him there. During the measuring process, the employees remarked several times about my son’s size and being hard to fit. My son is 6 ft 1 and has a muscular, athletic build that seems fairly typical for high school boys so my mom asked if there was a place that specialized in prom tuxedos and fitting boys this age. They told her they were the only place in town that rented for prom (apparently claiming the bridal stores only rented for weddings). When the tux came in, the pants didn’t fit and mom had to go back to exchange them. Though the new ones fit better, they were still not a perfect fit, as Garber’s claims to provide. Ultimately, the shirt and jacket were too big, the pants were too small and too short, the shoes were too tight, and the tie, pocket square and vest were all different shades of red and styles of fabric. While most high school guys don’t love wearing a tux, my son was very uncomfortable and could not wait to get this off. Even still, in the few hours he wore it, the tux jacket became extremely wrinkly, suggesting the fabric quality was low. If this whole experience had cost $100, I would be disappointed, but when I found out my mom paid $239 for this rental, I was angry. I told her she should see if they could refund at least half the price. Instead, when mom returned it, the employee said my son would not have found a tux to fit him anywhere, that the tux was excellent quality, and that they had 90 prom rentals and everyone was happy but us. We don’t usually write bad reviews, but I feel like Garber’s has been around Cape long enough that they should make things right for their customers. Until they do, I would not advise anyone to...
Read moreI had a great experience in this store, I was offered help the moment I walked in the door. The gentleman asked if I needed help and I was on the hunt for a light brown tie. We looked around and found a couple, bit nothing light enough. While walking around he politely asked what I needed it for and I informed him it was for a job interview and a couple more questions in, he felt out what I had and advised me he wouldn't add anything, based on the information I gave him, he was able to piece together the setting and thought what I had already had was perfect and I just needed to go with that, he confirmed this with his coworker who then caught up to speed on the setting and current attire and agreed with him. I walked out of there without spending a dime, but my bags were full of confidence and calmness, they're better at their job than they may realize, I would highly reccomend this store for anything they offer. This is a local retailer that gives that friendly, family vibe. Well done.

Read moreWe had a funeral, and the day before the wake I realized my suits didn’t fit. Steve (the owner) was amazing. I wanted 2 suits, one for the funeral and one for the wake. He helped me pick out the best combination of shirt, tie, etc. He spent time talking about my family member, and was just outstanding to deal with. And to top of all off, they got all of the alterations done at the last minute. I can’t say enough about them; incredible selection, wonderful, knowledgeable people. It’s not Kohl’s prices but your not buying kohl’s clothes either. They are a wonderful asset to the community, I hope anyone looking for nice men’s clothes would...
