Gerrity's Ace — Local services in Carbondale

I dont have an issue with most of the employees there. They do their job and seem very nice, but there seems to be an issue with this one older employee.

This might have been my 3rd time stopping by the store to pick up a random thing I need for my house or yard and after the 3rd time of being aggressively followed and watched by this employee, it's hard to say that he's just excessively helpful.

This time he tried to say something to me, but I didnt realize he was trying to talk to me because I wasnt near him. So I walk to the isle, towards the back, that had the washers I needed since I lost mine for a small grill at home. When I go down that isle, I finally noticed that he followed me all the way to the back of the store. I thought it was weird, but I brushed it off. He tried to insist on helping me, even though I only needed 1 thing that I already found. I just tell him Im fine and try to pick out the washers I needed.

He passes the isle I'm in 3x within 2 minutes. I wish I was exagerrating. I didnt need to look for that long, but after noticing his antics I wanted to see if he was going to start harassing me if I wasnt quick enough. Luckily all he did was agressively watch me, make it obvious he was watching me, and not give me space to shop.

Do I have to dress up like Im going to a fancy dinner to a hardware store now just to avoid being harassed by one of their employees? I didnt know there are now requirements for customers to be allowed to shop there in peace.

I'd rather waste time to drive further out for a single screw than shop...

Convenient hours, helpful employees, clean store.

When I need something late on Sunday night or early Saturday morning, they’re always open. The employees always greet you as you walk in and ask if you need help. I visit this store regularly and it’s been consistent with quality and parts in stock for quick fixes to my house. The store is always clean as well, which is nice. This is a message to the manager the store is nice I'm 68 yrs old and when me and my wife walk in we are aggressively followed asking what we need by an associate and if I can get away from that one another one comes after us we like to look around to try to remember what I came in for in the first place these associates take the fun out of shopping and I will mail this letter to top management in the meantime we will shop elsewhere thanks...
