We spent an energizing morning in a CanAm Maverick- slinging a little mud in the sun - feeling rightly sized in the universe thanks to the surrounding majesty.
We were outfitted by the early morning team at Time to Ride off-road- in Carefree AZ. They are professional, fast, clear, complete and good natured.
PSA- They have instructions for every type of learner- take a photo of the map (like Kayla said- it might blow away) - and it has photos on it too! Listen to the instructions as best you can, download the app and digital trail guide, follow the trail signs- HAVE FUN -
Drink water! Full faced helmets might contribute to the tendency to drink less. Handle your business like an adult!
For that matter- long sleeves are a real must you partiers!
We saw a small snake at the river- be aware of your surroundings when you are resting.
tip - do an AFAM bit by bit and then double back and take it for fun!
The mud dries to a rock like paste- so dont smear.. ;) let it dry!
The trail did not kick up a ton of dirt for us this time of year and I didn't need to wear a...
Read morePrices were good, trail was loads of fun, and the staff were extremely nice. They were caring, went out of the way to make everything easy, and the overall experience was awesome; would definitely do again. We, the boys, got lost without knowing it, and one of the girls called me to help guide us back to the trail, before we even knew we were lost (the vehicles are tracked by GPS). I will caution everyone though: if you are going on a 107° day like we did, bring a buttload of water and electrolytes, like we did. Otherwise you will die. Kidding, God forbid, but others in my group (in a separate dune buggy) did not take water and electrolytes, and had... a rough time. Even so, when we all got back to the place, they gave us all water and popsicles to help us recover.
Shoutout to everyone at Time To Ride AZ, your sticker is now proudly displayed on one of my...
Read moreWhat more could you ask for? Great machines, beautiful trails, and a reasonable price. We ended up splitting the Can Am Turbos between us, which made it much more affordable. Anyone from the east coast will appreciate being able to ride the road for 15 mins to reach the trails, which was fun in and of itself. And the trails were mint. Wide and fast. Riding through the slot canyon was incredible. Bring a camera and a tripod. We pushed the machines to the limit and they swallowed the bumps and corners up. For experienced atv'ers and sxs'ers you'll love these machines and trails. And amateurs should have no trouble either. When your day is done, be sure to hit up one of the great restaurants/bars in Cave Creek. Finding an Uber there from Scottsdale is easy, but its harder finding one back. Just get a rental car for the weekend. It'll save you money and headache in...
