Enjoyed this LGS when I first moved to Texas. They have a great selection of singles and they used always be competitive with TCG markets. Went back in a few weeks ago and they had a card I had really been looking for. I was super excited and added to my cart. The price came up which was 25% more than the market price of TCG. Initial I knew that their price was probably an old one and I figured they would at least get a little closer to the actual going price. I went to the counter and was ready to buy the card and asked if they were able to get a little closer to the TCG price. The extremely fat dude behind the counter, which I found was the manager there laughed and said “yeah I could, but I’m not going to.” I laughed thinking that he was joking. He continue to be really rude to me. He wouldn’t even look up at me after I asked him. The other guy behind the counter was actually a nice dude and you could tell that he felt awkward with the way he was treating me. A lot of guys in the shop said they have had the same experience. Since then I have no problems at any other shops in the area matching or at least getting close to the TCG market prices as MTG prices changes all the time so this normally isn’t a big deal. I would recommend shop at Collectables in Carrollton or The Card Haven in Lewisville. Those shops have always treated me well and seem to keep their cards up to date with pricing. The Card Haven has a great policy with after 10 days after the sticker price they will match the cheapest price on TCG and Collectables cards and Games does Magic Monday where you get 10% cards $10 or more or buy 2 get 1 free on cards $10 and under. I just will never get why a manager of a business like Boardwalk would lose a sell and treat a customer like this over a TCG that has a clear economy and pricing is very clear online for every single card. This review is only for the management team there as I have had good experiences with the lower level staff and they all seem to be down to earth. I hope one day new management will take over or at least do a rehaul of how they do cards, but until then I will take my...
Read moreAn absolutely wonderful place to get your game on! The worker there (I sadly do not remember their name) was very kind and very very helpful this most recent Saturday evening!
On Saturday when I came in to window shop, they were staying open a bit later so you can play any game they already have opened to basically give it a trial run before purchasing. It's a smart idea! Though, I feel kinda bad because I didn't have quite enough to buy the game I tried and liked at the time (Codenames: Duet), even though I really wanted to.
This is probably an odd thing to want, but I wish they had some sort of way I could have contributed like, a dollar or two or some other very small price since we came in, took up their space and time, and got to test-run a game like we did. I really like this game store and I want to support it as best I can, even though I am kinda poor and can't always buy a new game. I may not be able to afford a $20-30 game very easily, but I can still afford a buck or two just to get to play while at the store.
Maybe they don't want to charge for the game night so that more people can come in simply for the love of games, which I can understand and find very respectable, but if there was at least an optional way to contribute, I would like to do that to help keep this business afloat during these tough times.
I will definitely be back to buy games once things in my life smooth out monetarily to keep supporting them this way too. Just wish there was a way I could at least contribute a little bit on these game nights they host because I really like them and want to go to more now that I discovered...

I really liked the idea of this LGS. They always have a good stock of singles to choose from and a decent board game stock. But I've always left the store uncomfortable with the interactions. The interactions have never been long, long enough to check out and maybe pick up an online order but I've always felt uneasy. I always dismissed the feeling as maybe a joke that landed wrong or maybe mismatched humor.
But this last time, I felt entirely disrespected. I was in line, one staff member was talking to the person in front of me the other, the bearded man looked like he was pulling an order. I stepped up and both employees eyes were immediately glued to their computer screen. No problem I thought, maybe they're still busy pulling an order or something else caught their attention. So I started browsing the back wall, I was looking to buy a MTG box and pick up my online order.
Without looking at me, no acknowledgement, the bearded man goes "use your words".
At that point, I understood my previous feelings were never just me. And looking at other negative reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one. Each and every interaction that I left feeling uneasy was held with the bearded man. Who might be the owner of the store apparently, not the best look.
Personally, I'm avoiding this store and telling everyone I know to do the same. I don't think this person deserves your business or time.
I'll use my words sir. I've never had an issue with...
