We have purchased several thousands of dollars of plants and trees from this business. They are more expensive than the large box stores but we were happy to support a small business.
The mediocre rating is because of my experience purchasing 3 maple trees. I paid the extra money for the professional planting which guarantees the tree for 1 year (or that was what I was told). After purchasing, it was a little longer than a month for them to be delivered and planted. One of the trees was more mature and more expensive. When that tree was delivered, it looked poor. And then shortly after lost its leaves while the other two thrived. All three trees are in the same area, receive the same light, water and soil. The third tree just never thrived. It’s now the smaller of the trees, very thin and always looks sad. I have visited the store a handful of times to get advice, brought pictures, and emailed (as directed) the owner about it. I’ve been mostly ignored and when they are not ignoring me, they are giving me lots of irrelevant reasons as to why the tree is poor. They never offered to come see and evaluate the tree, nor did they offer to replace the tree. Now our 1 year warranty is over and we are no longer eligible to have the tree replaced. I’ve been mostly happy with this business but I will caution people not to pay extra money on any “guarantee”. I’ve since given up and figure the tree will either make it or not. My guess is not, while the other two are still growing new leaves, the third is already trying to go dormant. Just...
Read moreDisappointed. Snippy attitude and —I don’t know, maybe it was too hot (over 90) to be asking too many questions about bulk pricing, delivery fees, whether my contractor would get a contractor discount, and/or whether or why their military discount did not apply to bulk purchases. I thought they were reasonable and fair questions.
I asked about whether their mulch was the same as what many landscapers referred to as “gorilla” or “angel” hair. I was told —“not sure, but we call it X.” The tone was —weird. Isn’t it their job to know what other professionals call various types of mulch? Whatever….
Later, I sought to have a pleasant “mulch dialogue” and just increase my understanding of various types of mulch. I was particularly interested in what is referred to online as “fire resistant mulch.” The lady, —who, presumably was the manager seemed to grow exasperated. After she stated: “As I just told you….” in a rather curious and not very customer service oriented tone; I was ready to leave. It’s as if they didn’t want my business.
They did not act the same way at Cinderlite Trucking where they have all kinds of mulch. In fact, the lady there gave me her number and name and said have your contractor call me -directly.
Again-maybe it was just too hot; but damn….it was not a productive, pleasant, or what I would deem a...
Read moreGot a call at 8:30am that they were coming out to plant the tree I purchased. I asked if he could give me a window and the gentlemen said he'd call me back. At around 12pm I called back to ask when I could expect them, they said they'd check and call me back, guess what? No call. At 3:45 I called and asked are they coming I rescheduled everything today for you. I got a million excuses why they couldn't give me a window of time from a rude flippant woman, it's now after 5pm...they ruined my whole day. Tomorrow I'll be going in for a refund. I'll never shop there again! They don't care anything about their customers. Adding to my previous post, months before this I'd gone in and ordered about 10 purple pillar hibiscus I decided after the tree fiasco I should check on this order then be done with them. I inquired with 'Pepper' and she told me they couldn't find them anywhere. I hung up with her, went on Proven Winners plant website and bought 12 plants no problem. I noticed today when I was at Old Stonehouse nursery they had a bunch of them as well. What's with the staff...
