Terrible Experience – Three Trucks Down in Less Than 45 Days I leased three trucks from Lone Mountain within the last 45 days. Unfortunately, all three have experienced major mechanical breakdowns, with one truck currently still at the dealership and another having already required costly repairs — all within the first month of lease. While the units are covered under a bumper-to-bumper warranty, the frequency and severity of these breakdowns raise serious concerns about Lone Mountain’s inspection standards, maintenance practices, and equipment quality. These trucks should never have been delivered in the condition they were in — especially not to a business relying on them for active, over-the-road operations. Lone Mountain markets itself as a reliable solution for owner-operators and small fleets. But based on my experience, I was handed equipment that either was not properly inspected or had pre-existing issues that were overlooked or ignored. This experience has cost me downtime, repairs, driver displacement, lost revenue, and stress — the exact opposite of what any fleet operator should face after signing a lease. If you’re considering leasing from Lone Mountain, do your due diligence and don’t assume their trucks are road-ready. My experience says otherwise.

I just came and bought a 2019 Peterbilt on 03/18/2025. The process was quick and easy. No hidden mess. Everything was up front and simple. Danielle was our salesperson and she was awesome. I drove home to GA where I was going to get my inspection done. 03/18/2025 i went in de rate mode and had to go to loves and get a regen that didn't do anything so I got it towed to a truck shop in Alabama (where I made it to before it went into limp mode) Was advised by Truck worx that the system was outdated (which was why the loves couldn't clear the codes) they doing it now but it's to late so I have to get a hotel for the night. The truck had check engine light on it when I got in it but the mechanic at lone mountain cleared it. Waiting for a update on the issues now. Will update at a later date Update. Took the truck to another location where they found the problem, replaced it, fixed it and sent me on. One mechanic told me its a good truck. Even with this happening i don't think Lone Mountain is a bad place and I'll definitely recommend them. Plus I'll be using them again in the future

This was by far the easiest purchase we've ever made regarding our business. It passed Dyno testing with flying colors, we are getting great gas mileage. We live and work out of Jacksonville, FL, but Stephanie (GA) and Elon (TX) made this a fun purchase, plus we got to visit family during the process in both states. We recommend them to anyone thinking of adding a truck to their fleet or even buying their first truck. We've had our Cascadia for 2 months and we love it. We're saving a LOT of money versus what we were paying through a leasing company that leased us a piece of junk. Lone Mountain is an amazing network of people working WITH YOU from Finance to Pick-up... a refreshing change considering this was a major purchase.

I leased a truck through lone mountain/cresco capital several years ago it was a used 2007 Kenworth t600 From marten transportation. I checked the truck over and found a few things that needed attention. 1 of them was an exhaust leak. The shop told the sales staff it would be a week before they could get the part. Shop agreed to repair at a later date. I had it in writing. So I take the truck to lease on with my company no issues. When I went back to have exhaust leak repaired they refused to repair it even with the written letter from the shop.

I have the truck about a week before the issues start rolling in. First it was an injector harness. 2 months later the top end comes apart warranty claim denied C 15 Cat $13000 and 3 months later I get the truck back run it for about a month and the clutch goes out. Another $2500 and another week down. 2 months later the the input shaft for the transmission lets go an trashes ihe internals of the transmission. Another $5000 and another week shot. During this time of several catastrophic failures I was able to stay pretty much current on my payments. There were a few instances where I was a week late. About a 2 months after getting the truck back from the transmission failure. I fall 1 week behind on the truck payment. (Still playing catch up on bills @ home) Cresco Capital calls me asking when they can expect payment. I give them a date of the following Friday. Well the deposit didn't hit until Monday. By the time Monday rolled around Cresco had put out a repo order on the truck. It was 9 am est when the repo man showed up at my delivery taking possession of the truck the companies trailer and my personal possessions. The repo company left me 15 miles from civilization and said good luck getting to town.. I called lone mountain/cresco capital and asked what could be done their response was write a check for the balance. I had no choice but to let them keep the truck. My advice steer clear of this company unless you have the cash on hand to pay off truck and 20 k...

From day one of dealing with lone mountain carter lake Iowa, it’s been a very pleasurable experience. From the time I applied which was the FIRST time I ever applie for ANYTHING, never got a loan for a car, or a house or anything before in my life, so you can imagine how nervous I was and almost didn’t apply because I thought I wouldn’t be accepted, and it almost felt better to not try than to try and get rejected like I already expected. Guess what, Lone Mountain wanted to get me in a truck, they gave me the biggest opportunity in my life, and 2 years later it’s still the biggest blessing I’ve ever received. My first in person experience was with Lindsey, she was beautiful not only in looks but even more in Spirit. She was very welcoming, patient and guided me through the process. Same with Ashley my account manager, beautiful inside and out, patient, on point, and makes me feel like she is on my team and wants to see me succeed. I have not met Shelly in person but everytime I talk to her she has a beautiful spirit, she works with me, always gives off good energy when she answers the phone. I just have to be honest, these people have been great. I truly believe in when you find good people, you speak it. You have to honor them because it’s too hard to find people who are about the right thing. You have to be about the right thing also yourself so don’t look for a good situation if you aren’t bought in to reciprocating the same energy. GO TO LONE MOUNTAIN CARTER LAKE IOWA for a successful start in truck. I Loooooooooove my truck. Has been reliable, no major issues and keeps me rolling. It’s an ALL AROUND WIN WIN SITUATION ~ Sincerely Jared Stevens

Ps....

I have been a truck driver here for 5 years and before that a truck driver in Puerto Rico. I went to Shaggy's Consultant boot camp and learned a lot. My wife and I did our 2-year plan together. I went to Lone Mountain for a truck to be able to start my business. As we all know we can not have a trucking company with no truck. I explained our 2-year plan and that I was just getting started with my own authority prior to even putting in an application. Erin said it should be good because we have a business plan that they would do an interview with is. I got a call the next day for the interview of the loan. I explained our business plan to the guy who called for the interview he said he wanted to put it all down to give to his supervisor who would be making the final decision. They wanted to see how much cash we had at hand. I explained what we have and where we have it however that wasn't good enough. He even said that the credit was good but they rarely approve brand new businesses. AT NO POINT WAS THIS STATED PRIOR TO ME PUTTING IN AN APPLICATION. SO I HAVE AS N INQUIRY ON MY CREDIT REPORT FOR NOTHING WHEN I COULD HAVE WENT ELSEWHERE AND FOUND A COMPANY THAT WILL WORK WITH NEW BUSINESSES.

The sales associates taking the application should know what is required for new businesses and it also should be on their website.

They're not honest and I won't be doing business with them in the future, not recommend...
