So far me and my fiance love living here. We've given this place 4 stars for several reasons
Customer Service: So far, everytime when I called or had a question, they have taken care of everything. The application process went smooth. I just wish that they would tell us EVERYTHING that needed to be submitted. I just remember there was something that wasn't included but anywho, the application was submitted and completed without complications or misunderstandings. I rarely have to call the leasing office for anything unless it directly affects me, but again thats rare. They are also very good with emailing if anything is happening so that you are not lost.
Maintenance: I absolutely love the maintenance in this building. Everytime when I put a request in it's always taken care of right away. I have never seen maintenance move so fast with every complaint. I also love that it is 24 hours because there was one time I locked myself out and they came within 30 minutes to let me in. Maintenance will be at your apartment within 24 hours (unless you put in the request on a weekend) and they are really efficient. They recently had to replace my dishwasher and that was done within 48 hours.
I love that there is ample parking. I have a 2 bedroom so I get two parking spaces WHICH I LOVE! There is also ample street parking for visitors.
UNIT: We have a very spacious 2 bedroom 2 FULL bathroom. The bathroom that is not in the master bedroom is smaller but that just means that me and my fiance have our own bathrooms. It is also updated with hardwood floors and white walls. There is carpet in the bedrooms but its very spacious for two adults. I've never had any critters enter the building or any issues when it rains.
BUILDING/GROUNDS: I like that it smells good from time to time. I like the amenities such as the luxer lockers and the refrigerator. The lobby gets decorated and its always so nice to see it done. Its very inviting. They upkeep the building pretty well. The carpet lady comes like every two weeks and they are constantly reminding tenants about curbing their dog. I've never felt unsafe around the building, but then again, I'm only in and out lol
The only reason I took off a star is because of the ceilings. They are quite thin and we can constantly hear a child who is bumping above us. Other than that we have decided to stay another year =) I...
Read morePLEASE do not do yourself a disservice by moving into this apartment building. If you happen to be assigned a unit on a floor other than the 4th floor, then you need to hope and pray that either the tenants in the unit directly above you are never home, or they are considerate enough to make conscious efforts not to disturb the peace and quiet of tenants below them with noise issues. A new tenant moved in a couple of months ago and since then, I've had to deal with constant noise issues from nonstop stomping, banging, and running around. The light fixtures in my unit are constantly shaking as a result of the noise vibrations from upstairs. The only time I'm able to catch a break from the noise issues is when the tenants are not home or when they finally go to bed very late at night. The leasing office has been totally non-responsive and constantly giving me the run around on this matter, despite assuring me before I turned in my lease renewal that they would take care of the issue. Now, they simply treat the issue like it's something trivial. I recently pointed out to one of the leasing officers that for the first 2 years prior to this new tenant moving in, I never lodged any noise complaints and that should count for something. To my surprise, the leasing officer dismissed this observation by saying that the previous tenants were hardly ever home due to the nature of their jobs and that explains why I never had the noise issues prior to now! I couldn't believe that a leasing officer could say such a thing out loud! I've spoken with other tenants who shared very similar experiences. Long and short, just save yourself the trouble and stay far, far away from this apartment rental. Rental properties are a dime a dozen, especially in this area, with a couple of newer properties offering move-in specials. For the high rent you pay, you should look forward to coming home to relax after a long, hard...
Read moreYou would think because the leasing office is located inside the building that the building would be more controlled; well think again because it's not. It's nice in the lobby areas, but once you go beyond the lobby, things change. The carpet in the hallways are outdated, dirty, stained, and smelly. The walls are dirty and stained. Paint chipping from the walls. Maintenance does not do a good job in emptying the trash chutes, because a lot of times the trash chutes are full, which prevents tenants from being able to dump their trash. Also, some of the tenants are just trifling for leaving their trash outside of the chute even if the chute is not full. That attracts rodents and insects. Some of the staff in the leasing office are either miserable with their job or just miserable in life in general, because they always looking mad and don't speak or acknowledge the tenants, and if they do speak it's like it's forced. Just don't come to work or go find another job if you're unhappy and unapproachable, because no tenant wants to interact with unfriendly miserable leasing staff who gives off negative energy. If you move to one of their properties in Carteret, you better hope that the neighbors above you are considerate enough to not make so much noise; if not, the noise will absolutely drive you crazy and the leasing office is not going to do anything about it. Last but not least, there is a liquor store attached to the building, and sometimes drunks and thugs hang out in front of the liquor store. A man got robbed coming out of the liquor store and there are no cameras on the outside of the building in that areas or the building entrance next to subway. That's a safety issue and I would hope after reading this post, the leasing office and owners of the building would invest in installing cameras in those areas for the sake of their...
