The owner(Lito) was my go to barber, & his skills are highly respectable, but the ālevelā of service(or lack there of) stuck with me, so here I am writing this.
Been here about 3-5 times, always taken as a walk-in, given an amazing cut and great service. I have waves now, so while only getting a tight trim/fade service and a line up, had always paid a premium of 40 bucks a visit after a tip(my hair can be ALOT to handle at times. I get it. I donāt mind the price).
Last week saw my guy leaving for lunch, dapped him up outta respect and realized I was free; asked him if he was, he said to pass by at 3pm. I was like BET! (Him & I do not have each others numbers, fyi. Tight neighborhood relationship basis.)
Work happened, had to cover someoneās shift, didnāt have time to pass by the shop. Shit happens. Itās not like it was a Friday or Sat night, figured heād slot someone else.
Pass by today asking if heās free, met with an attitude, you can even see it in the eyes. Says heās ābusy all day(itās Tuesday for context š¤¦āāļø)ā.
He claims I never showed for our last APPOINTMENT: bruh, I dapped u up by chance and outta respect, THEN decided I had some time. WORK came UP. It happensā¦.if I donāt WORK how do I Pay YOU?(again: DO NOT have your number at that).
More attitude, followed by me inquiring about tommorow; he then claims HE NEEDS TO CHARGE ME IN ADVANCE to get the cut!!!!!
^ since when was this acceptable? I am not a woman getting a perm or hairdressing service done, & my money was MORE than good enough as a walk in.
Furthermore, Iām not asking you to fly out of state, Iām coming to YOUR SHOP FROM DOWN A FEW BLOCKS!
Charging me in advance? Never have I ever been hit with that shit.
Overall, great shop, fantastic barber, great staff & atmosphere, however, Iām not one to deal with blatantly bad customer service, and or inherent disrespect. Iāll speak with my wallet and go elsewhere.
To Lito, I appreciate the cuts you DID give me, and you are extremely talented. Maybe youāre having an off day, I get it. Iām human too.

The barber was rude, and acted as if he didn't have time to give me a full haircut, then proceeded to give me one of the worst if not the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. I've been here 3 times prior and it was usually pretty good, today was the exception with the attitude he displayed, his lack of care for my time and money, and not to mention he was more eager to partake I'n an alcoholic drink then worry about giving me the haircut that I paid for and reserved a week in advanced. I showed him photos of my previous haircuts, basically a 1 1/2 on top with a skin fade on the sides and back. I let him know I had a cowlick on my hairline to just be cautious, and I preferred the square/box look for my hair. Since the last shop I went to in Carteret screwed up my hairline, I didn't want that happening again. Lee cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and he made sure I was happy with the service.
