While exiting 290 there must’ve been some checkpoint going on… which is fine, but what isn’t fine is officer #556 who flashed a light in my car questioning where I’m coming from and how much I had to drink. I told him I haven’t drunk anything and he shoved a breathalyzer in my face and told me to blow. When I initially refused after being caught off guard he then accused me of smelling of alcohol and told me to pull over and get out my vehicle. I blew in the breathalyzer in order for me not to be arrested. The results proved me right… no alcohol. But what I don’t appreciate is being falsely accused of drinking and driving! Officer #556 you took an oath, to be truthful, serve and protect and sir you LIED!!! There was no accountability, no explanation of “hey we are conducting a sobriety checkpoint, could you blow into this breathalyzer and if it comes back clear you’re free to go, etc”. I felt as if you put my livelihood in jeopardy by falsely accusing me. Shoving an object in someone’s face without knowledge and handling them without care is reckless, highly disrespectful and shame on whoever trained you or let your behavior go unchecked.
