Food Lion — Local services in Cary

As of December 2016, I no longer shop at this store after an employee suggested that I was using a stolen debit card to purchase $350 worth of gift cards for my family. This worker may be a 40-year-old working poor, earning barely above minimum wage and renting an apartment. However, I am not in that box and never have been.

I cannot feel sorry for 30 and 40 year old women who are forced to work low skilled and low waged jobs due to their lack of qualifications for higher paying positions. People like this woman are working for minimum wage because they did not go to college. They did not go to college because they could not cut the mustard in high school. I realize that not everyone is college material. However, I take offense to a working poor retail or grocery store worker who believes that I am just as poor as she and has to steal from others in order to buy the things that I need and want. This ignorant woman tried to humiliate me while one of the store's managers was robbing it blind. The skinny little guy with the red hair stole thousands of dollars from the store during the time that he worked there and now his mugshot is on the Internet. This is the same idiot who accused me of stealing a water bottle from outside the store. Food Lion needs to launch a full and complete investigation into each and every one of the workers at the Reedy Creek location, and moving forward vet new hires much closely. I WENT TO THIS FOOD LION LOCATION STORE#00727 AT 0817AM ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH 2025. I PARKED MY CAR AND NOTICE THAT THE TRASH CANS IN FRONT OF THE STORE WERE OVERFLOWING WITH TRASH. THERE WAS AN EMPLOYER OUT THERE SUPPOSEFULLY TO EMPTY THE TRASH CANS BUT HE WASNT DOING ANYTHING BUT WALKING PASS THEM. NOW MIND YOU HE HAD THE CART TO EMPTY THE CANS BUT HE DID NOT. SO I TOOK SOME PICTURES TO SHOW THE MANAGER HOW THE TRASH CANS WERE LOOKING HIS NAME WAS MAKEESH AN INDIAN MANAGER. HE KIND OF BRUSH ME OFF LIKE HE DIDNT CARE SO AFTER I FINISHED SHOPPING, I LEFT THE STORE AND NOTICE THAT THE TRASH CANS WERE STILL OVERFLOWING WITH TRASH. I WENT BACK INTO THE STORE AND ASKED THE MANAGER WHY DIDNT THE GUY THAT WAS OUTSIDE WITH THE GARBAGE CART DIDNT EMPTY THE TRASH. HE STATED TO ME THAT HE WAS GOING TO HAVE HIM DO IT. I AM SO CONFUSED BECAUSE WHEN I ENTER THE STORE FROM THE BEGINNING AND TOLD MANAGER MAKEESH ABOUT THIS ISSUED HE SHOULD OF HAD THE EMPLOYER FIX THAT ISSUE FROM THE START. I FEEL THAT THE MANAGER DID NOT CARE ABOUT THE ISSUE THAT I BROUGHT TO HIS ATTENTION AND THAT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. I AM A VALUE CUSTOMER AT THIS LOCATION AND SEING THAT EARLY THSI MORNING IS DISTURBINE. I WILL NOT BE COMING TO THIS LOCATION ANYMORE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THAT MANAGER. Would give zero if I could, just when I thought I found my new go to foodlion location on the way home from work since moving I was disappointed at check out realized I bought more than planned so kindly asked can this besplit transaction being I was at self checkout all bagged & ready he kindly said yes handed my receipt over to the cashier to do a split payment. I asked do I need to input my member # no ok so $80 on this card she says ok insert Idid she put it all on the one card I said the purpose of me being sent to you was split payment she says I didn't hear you. So dd you hear him when he handed you my receipt &said split payment yes so what was missed so to better assist I went back over to the gentleman to mention she didn't do what you asked he says she heard me but didn't hear you.....what so you gave her the receipt she heard you & she ignored it & ignored me when I said $80 on this card bc that would simply mean more than one card as the total came to$128...so sad I never should have stopped there never will again & will also be telling everyone in the neighborhood not to go there as customer service is not priority he rolled his eyes at me when speaking also so rude....
