Prior to 7/5/19, I would have given Hands on Health a five star review. In fact, I canât say enough good things about Charla. She is an excellent massage therapist, very kind, and easy to talk to. I saw her once a month during my pregnancy, and she worked wonders for me. She took her time to work the areas that really needed it, often finding tight/sore areas before I could even point them out. Sheâs amazing, and I looked forward to seeing her again on 7/5/19, until something came up and I had to reschedule. I called the office the day before, 7/4/19, in the 3 oâclock hour and left a message, asking if I could fill any spots for Charla earlier in the day because something came up in the afternoon. I received a return phone call from Stephanie the next morning. She notified me that I would be charged in full for the appointment because I had not given â24-hour business day notice.â She did not consider Thursday, 7/4/19 to be a business day, so according to her, I should have called prior to 4:30 PM on 7/3/19 to cancel. Nowhere in any paperwork is this indicated. In fact, the contract that I signed asked that you kindly call before 5 PM the day before your appointment, which I did. There is no mention of 24 hours, no mention of business days, and no mention of holidays. (You can also find this information on their website.) Tammy, the owner, emailed me a few hours later and said they called their scheduled customers on 7/3/19 to let them know they were changing their cancellation policy due to the holiday and that cancelations for 7/5/19 must be made 7/3/19. How convenient! Do people check voicemails anymore? Furthermore, that was not described anywhere in my signed contract, and I am not a fan of making up policies in order to steal clientsâ money. I replied to her email with this information and asked her to confirm whether she was going to steal my money, because if so, Iâd cancel my plans and be there at 4:30 for my appointment. This was at 2:40. I received no response. Iâm fact, I received no response until I emailed her again the evening of 7/8/19, three days later. Baby will be here any day, and I was really hoping to see Charla one last time. Tammy replied back the following morning, 7/9/19, to confirm that she was, in fact, stealing my money. This time, her excuse was that when I called the afternoon of 7/3/19, I did not specifically use the word âcancelâ when I said that something came up and asked if Charla had any earlier openings I could fill. It was my attempt at being considerate instead of outright canceling with no attempt to reschedule. Tammyâs decision to make up policies as she goes has cost me the final massage in my package, as well as the money she stole from me. Plus, I am nine months pregnant and could have done without this extra stress in my life. I will let you decide whether she is someone you would like to trust with your...
Read moreI rarely take time to write reviews on products or services but once in a while you have an experience that is exceptional, worth recognizing, and sharing. A friend suggested I go see Jessica Silverman at Hands on Health Massage Therapy for my continuous shoulder and neck problems. First, their online appointment system is easy and convenient. I can be traveling anywhere and make the appointment online for when I return. You can pick the length of your session and describe what youâre looking for ahead of time. Works perfect for busy professionals on the go. The offices are professional and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. They clearly take pride and making this a great experience for you whether youâre doing a relaxation massage to pamper yourself, or a regularly scheduled medical massage. In my opinion, all of the above is great but the talent of their massage therapist is where Hands on Health is truly exceptional and stands out from the rest. They make sure to match you with the right therapist for your needs. Their therapists are top-notch with deep skills and knowledge. Finally, they are genuinely interested in making you feel better and getting positive results. Jesse is one of my favorites there. She is a great listener, very knowledgeable and the best hands Iâve had work on me period. She makes every experience a great one and has helped me obtain the best results to date on my condition. It feels like Iâm hanging with a friend that Iâve know for many years versus a business transaction. I recognize everyone values different things, but in the days where every business seems to be in a rush to collect your credit card number before knowing your name there are very few places can deliver the complete package and experience the Hands On Health does, and to me, there is no better place for massage therapy experience in...
Read moreThe massage staff, specifically Dawn my therapist, are amazing. The reception is friendly and work with you to the best of their ability regarding scheduling. However, stay away from Tammy. Unbelievably unprofessional treatment toward me the client. She made several scheduling decisions without discussing them with me, leaving me having to spend time listening to her make excuses for her mistakes. If she would have just taken responsibility for mismanaging my appointments and sincerely apologized for canceling them that would have been the first step, second would have been to fix the mistakes. After asking her for help, she promised to hold an appointment until I touched base with her by the end of today, and then again took it upon herself to book that appointment for someone else before speaking with me. The ideal outcome, would have been to have two appointments on Monday, mine as originally scheduled with Dawn and to add my son anytime between 10 and 12:30. Preferably around the same time. She was holding an 11:30 for my son and then called to say they were able to get me back in with Dawn at 10:15. But for some reason removed the 11:30 she was holding?? I honestly don't know why. She went on to scold me for arguing with her, however I was simply trying to make appointments while she was scheduling over or canceling them and then blaming her misteps on me. In the middle of my asking her to please let me take the 10:15 appointment and try to get back my son's 11:30, she hung up on me. Please remedy this once and for all... I would like to continue seeing Dawn, she is worth this incredibly frustrating experience. Any new clients, you may want to reconsider this practice, unless you want more stress than a massage...
