My toddler and I love angel island fun park. It’s truly a genius indoor playground for young children. It’s really safe and it’s lots of fun! The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because as a paying member of this establishment, you are denied entrance if someone books a private party, and there is no update as to whether or not they are open. I don’t think people should be allowed to book the entire place instead of one of the private rooms because everybody pays for a membership, and that membership is supposed to allow you access and entrance during all normal business hours.
The other issue is that while we’ve been members now for nearly a year, I have seen the place fall under various states of disrepair. Solutions when something breaks are usually not ideal. Sometimes broken toys are left to be played with and can create hazards. Sometimes parts of the bigger maze gym equipment break and instead of replacing that section it’s patched up with a board or something like that. It’s disappointing because it seems like since the new location in Durham opened which is very expensive and quite a distance for those of us in Raleigh or Cary, this place has become the red headed step child of the angel islands. The interactive video screen is torn and patched up with a piece of tape which the kids pull out. The carousel for pet laying in the back is missing parts. And the staff, the friendly mostly consist of a single person sitting at the front desk. In other words, there is no real supervision. But they do have a rule about children having to be under eight to play here which I appreciate as the mother of a toddler.
For now, we will stay members of angel island, but we rock the spectrum in Cary/Morrisville just opened and I’m sure there will be other types of these sensory gems following suit in the area. If I were the owners of angel island, I would shut down for a month and renovate/rejuvenate my equipment so that families keep choosing to give their $20 per child to me instead of one of the numerous other available places in the city for the same price.
I really think that they should consider renovating this location. Tons of families use it or want to use it, especially when the weather is very hot or very cold. But the big appeal is trusting that your children can have fun without getting hurt and loosely...
Read moreOur 3 year old loved Angel Island Fun Park. We went on a Friday afternoon. Not crowded at all. They have several reasonable payment options and a waiver you sign via scanning a bar code or doing it online. We opted for the $20 one-time visit (there's a 59 monthly option or a $72 punch card option plus more options). The $20 one-time play option was good for 3hrs of play! 😎 We also purchased $3 non slip socks, so bring your own and save some cash. They also offer snacks and drinks for purchase (didn't see any hot food options), or I think you can bring your own snack and sit at the tables, check with the store. We did see children with their own water bottles in the sitting area. I know they told us no food or beverages in the play area. They have a cubby for shoes. Free "community" flip flops for bathroom use (must remove your shoes for bathroom use) Im guessing you can bring your own disposable foot coverings if you're uncomfortable using the public flops, ask the store. The restroom was clean and so was the play area - soft padding for little ones. Our 3 year old navigated the play area on his own, under our watchful eyes. Parents can sit at the little tables outside the play area with a full view. The play area is also fenced with open entrances so you can stand and watch your kiddos. There's also two pay-as-you-go massage chairs in the sitting area against the wall - you can relax while getting a massage. If I recall correctly, the cost was about $5 per 10-15 minutes. I believe their website states this play place iso ages 8 and under. Parking was ok but the place is in a small plaza and if they get super busy it looks like parking could be an issue. We enjoyed our time and will be back soon....
Read moreHonestly, I’ve heard good things about this place from a few different moms I know and have been wanting to bring my daughter here for about a month or so BUT experiencing it for myself was great! I wish we’d gone sooner. She loved it! The staff was very vibrant and friendly. Like as soon as I walked in the door, the greeting was so warm. It kind of shocked me a little bit. Lol. It also was very clean. I remember sitting on the floor trying to help my daughter and I had to scoot around a little but to my blissful surprise, NO DUST! Again, I was super surprised because I really thought I was in an area that (I thought) could be overlooked when cleaning. Now, I know all that sounds great but THE BEST PART for me (aside from my daughter having an amazing time) was that we actually got to enjoy it everything together. She’s only 20 months so she’s still fairly small and I am a plus size, (300lb +) woman and often times when we go places, we don’t get to thoroughly enjoy everything because of that. At this place though, my baby could do all things, including the ball bit ☺️ ..& I felt safe and supported by the equipment when I had to get up in there and crawl around with my babygirl. Hunny, I was all up in that place, crawling around. Lol. It was nice feeling like I wasn’t going to break everything. So I really appreciated that part the most. Anyways, thanks again for the experience and thank you to the staff. They really add a little extra touch to the place. Almost a little homey 💗 We will...
