Not pleased with this experience. It’s pretty expensive no matter what day you go or what object you choose even if the service fee is low that day. It’s pretty frustrating. Then, I pick up my cup and find these red marks on it that were not there when I dropped it off. I didn’t even paint with that color so it didn’t come from me. The lady said it was probably from touching another person’s pot in the kiln. They should take better care of customer’s items when glazing it. When I expressed my disappointment to the employee, all she said was “I apologize” and didn’t offer me any kind of reimbursement, discount or way to fix it. Sounded insincere and scripted. Just very displeased and I won’t be coming back.

Hadn’t painted pottery since I was a child. Always remembered having fun. My friends and I were trying to think of a way to spend the afternoon. Stumbled across Paint Your Pot and had a blast. It’s been a while since I’ve done something productive and completely lost track of time. Can’t say much about their pricing, as the only other times I’ve painted pottery were at birthday parties where I wasn’t paying. They had a wide array of pieces to paint. Be careful when using the stencils though. The staff was helpful answering the questions we had. Was able to pick up the work about a week later. They had signs up advertising their different events, and if I lived closer I’d come more often.

While the process of choosing and painting your pot was so much fun and well worth the price, the staff was incompetent and rude. My friend and I have been twice and the first time was great! We had so much fun picking out what we wanted to paint and enjoyed the process. It was ready early and we received a call to come get our stuff without any issues. This was December of 2023. This past December (2024) we went on a busy weekend day and they were able to fit us in. Once again we had so much fun. However, when it came time to check out, every staff member (all teenage girls) seemed frazzled, completely scattered, and confused. It took entirely too long to be checked out and the people around us were all in agreement and slightly annoyed at their lack of competence. I’ve worked in retail/customer service so I understand being in the weeds and being overestimated and your mind having to be ten places at once but this was ridiculous. On top of this, we asked if we would again receive a call when our stuff was ready and we were told that we would. We did NOT.

Fast forward 3 months later, I finally get a call to come get our stuff or it would be thrown away by a spectific date. So my friend and I drive back over to the location to get our pots. When we walk in there is only one customer in the store- looking at pots - and one young girl behind the counter who doesn’t look up when we walk in, nor when we walk up to the register. In fact, she doesn’t acknowledge our presence at all. So we wait patiently. After about 30 seconds she looks up and says “hi”. I hand her the ticket, annoyed, and my friend tells her we are there to pick up our pots and informs her that no one called us. She replies “we don’t call” and my friend says “oh okay, how are we supposed to know when to pick up our stuff then?” The worker apparently can’t be bothered to respond with words. Instead she holds up our ticket and taps it twice with her finger and just turns around and walks away.

When she comes back my friend had to o ASK for the lights that come with our stuff. She informs us that it “doesn’t come with the ‘light set’ …it comes with the ‘light set up’. Apparently they’re different…but okay, that’s no problem to us. We just want whatever it comes with. So we wait…thinking she’s about to go get the “light set up”, but she doesn’t budge. So after about 15 more seconds of staring at each other, I eventually ask how we get the “light set up” and she responds “I GUESS I’ll go get them” ….umm yes ma’am. That’s your job. Please do it without being RUDE. Now, I had called the store at least ten times that day with no answer. Somewhere in this exchange the phone rang and I watch as she picks it up, looks at the caller ID, and then sets the phone back down. This staff member was COMPLETELY unprofessional and simply just RUDE from the moment we walked into the store.

We will not...

I arrived here around 1:35 on a Saturday afternoon for a date. I found this place by searching for things in the Apex area.

You can make reservations but I did not as it was last minute. Fortunately, it was not busy and we were able to be helped immediately.

Here, they have a full wall full of items that you can paint. All of which are food safe. The items vary in price but they are clearly listed. In addition to the cost of the item of choice, you’ll pay a service fee that half the cost of the item ($12 max). The service fee covers the supplies utilize and the process to finalize your product. We each got an item that was $20. With the $10 service fee, it was $60+ tax.

You do have to leave with the product and must come back to get it. We were told ours will be ready on Thursday (Halloween) and I’m excited.

Depending on the item you choose and how you choose to paint/decorate it, you can be there a while. We were unintentional there for 3 hours! I chose a wood grained vase, so it took time lol. I’m overjoyed to see the final product, which will be much darker in hue after the final process.

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves greatly and would definitely return. The staff were so friendly. We were there so long, we experienced a shift change, haha. It was a fun time!

I will note that $15-$25 is average for a decently sized item. The cheaper ones are really small. Some items are pretty costly, honestly. However, they have specials for the service fee. On Mondays the service fee is only $2 and it’s only $5...

I have been here at least five times in the past. Every time I've been, it has been great! I usually call ahead of time and reserve a table, but since I go during school time on weekdays, I've never had an issue with table space. Their inventory is always changing, and they have a good amount of both holiday and non holiday themed ceramics. Typically, closest to the holidays is when they have the most, but there are season related ceramics, too. It always takes at least a week to get your ceramics back, by the way! They have that date displayed near the checkout and are always happy to help with paints and techniques.(paints always look different before they're fired in the kiln!). I come here to make Christmas and birthday gifts and the prices are the most reasonable especially when you see the newsletters! I try to come on Mondays when I take the trip, as I find it worth it since the ceramic places near me are on the pricier side. Everyone has loved the quality of the ceramics from here, and it's so relaxing. Even when parties are in the reserved room, it's not too loud and easy to ignore with headphones. Found this place a few years ago and prefer it over any others in...
