The idea was exciting, the execution needs a lot of work. Our party of four pre-booked a reservation per the website recommendation. When we arrived, there were many people on the ice for such a small rink. When waiting in line to check in, an employee was assisting “walk-ons” to sign a waiver. We questioned another employee what a reservation was needed for when an unlimited amount of walk-ons are also able to join, letting them know the ice was already crowded but they didn’t have an answer.
We each paid $17 (even though two of us brought our own skates) and when we got to the ice, it was crowded to the point of not being able to pick up speed. If a person fell, they were easily tripped over or taking someone else down due to the close proximity of skaters. The ice was choppy and slushy, there was trash and debris on the ice. When some skaters cleared out, there was still no visible employees maintaining order on the ice. Some skaters were standing in the middle of the flow, going the opposite direction, and even chasing/tackling each other. This is not worth what we paid for. Save your money and go to a real rink to enjoy skating.
Definitely asking for a refund for this event due poor planning.(pictures of how bad...
Read moreUNSAFE CONDITIONS!! SHOULD BE ZERO STARS!!! On December 28th, our family visited this ice rink. My mother came along to watch her grandkids on the ice. She walked over to the designated viewing area, and unfortunately, on her way, took a horrific fall after tripping over a piece of plywood, raised pavement and an oversized bolt that was at the corners of the viewing area. She fell forward onto the ground hurting her knee. We were told that prior to December 28th, the management for the ice rink was using a white construction cones to alert people of the danger, but said cones was not used that day. We immediately alerted the ice rink employees and the mall management, who came over to my mother to take a report. As a result of this fall, my mom had to go to an emergency visit with her doctor, and sadly, as of today is still experiencing great pain from her fall and is required to wear a brace. I have reached out several time to multiple people to obtain a copy of the report of this incident, but Ice Rink Events has been unable to provide it to me nor have they called me back to discuss. It was suggested by them that I write a review in order to get the requested report. This is...
Read moreThis place is praised as the place to go. Well, it’s not. This place is ran terribly and lacks signs to tell you where to go. The time says 75 minutes from check-in but check-in is extremely slow so don’t expect to use the 75 minutes. That’s not the only reason you won’t get the 75 minutes…there is no control on the amount of people who enter and exit the ice. The ice rink is sized for maybe 20 people but they allow as many as they physically can get on the ice. It was a mad house and a collision course. It is dangerous if you cannot skate and are prone to falling. The ice isn’t taken care of at all. Chunks of ice missing everywhere, puddles causing you to get soaked if you fall, people making snowballs from all the extra ice.
This should be an enjoyable experience but it is far from that. The only enjoyable part of the experience are the decorations they have around the ice rink. This could have been something great, but it has been executed terribly. Don’t waste your money on this. Go spend it elsewhere as there are plenty of better...
