I really wanted to love this place. My wife and I are big fans of true Tex Mex style mexican food since we are ex-West Coasters. The ambience in the restaurant is gorgeous, and of course we love what they are doing with Fenton as a whole, it is coming along nicely. Superica has a prime location next to their plaza area in front of the new Movie Theatre with a nice outdoor waiting area with lounges. I fear though they may not make it if they continue on this path. Here is why I say that. First let me say that our waitress was fantastic and very pleasant and attentive. But other than that, we found it lacking and WAY overpriced for the quality of the food. The waitress after her first greet told us we had a "surprise" coming out, that turned out to be the chips and salsa. These were good, but nothing unique and definitely shouldn't be called a "surprise" when every Mexican restaurant offers this. Then I wanted to order a Strawberry Margarita, something that 95% of all mexican restaurants carry as standard fair. They did not offer any fruit flavored Margaritas of any kind. They did offer a Ginger Margarita, but I am not keen on Ginger. So then I ordered their standard blended margarita which was way too sour for my taste. My wife had the one on the rocks and felt is was average. Then I wanted to order either Steak Fajitas, or Steak Taco's. Well Steak Fajitas starts at $40 for one serving! Yowsa. So after I choked on that a bit, I went with the Tacos Al Carbon Steak (marinated and wood-grilled) which was still pricey at $29 but I figured it must be good for that price. Well the Waitress informed me these were "rolled" tacos. I figured that is o.k. with me. My wife had the "Taco Dinner" (with Chicken Tinga), which was basically what I really wanted with regular tacos, but they don't offer a steak version with regular hard or soft shell tacos and I had a hankering for good grilled steak. Well I got my food, which was of generous size, but after eating two of the three that came with the meal, all of the meat was very chewy and lacking of flavor. I felt like I was eating gum after a bit, and in fact almost choked on one piece because it wouldn't break down. Was soft, but not tender and cooked correctly. Final bill $75 for the two of us with no desert added because by that point we were just ready to leave. I thought maybe if they had a great Flan, but instead they offered a "chocolate flan", which probably is good, but just not the same as a standard but great traditional Flan. My wife said her food was "ok", but nothing to brag about. So our overall ranking is two-stars. Potential is huge, but they need to offer better tasting food especially at the price they are charging. We are always on the lookout for good mexican food being Ex-Californians who were spoiled by some of the best in that world in that genre, and having tasted great mexican in AZ and TX as well. Those restaurants all offered better tasting food, more quantity, great ambience as well, for far better value. Even over here I would say another higher end Mexican Restaurant is Uncle Julio's in Southpoint Mall. Also pricey, but still 25% less than Superica, with even better ambience and tastier food. Maybe once all the residents actually move into the center, the local residents who can just walk down to the restaurant will keep it running, but I still expect unless they improve their food taste and maybe adjust their pricing to be more affordable (might not be an option for their overhead cost, so even more important that they wow you with the best tasting food ever!), they will crash and burn after the first year of being a new restaurant in which almost all new restaurants kill it for that first year as everyone wants to try it out. But the winners are the ones who get them to come back again and again. The bar should do well though which will help support the restaurant but should offer more standard mexican flair drinks. So we probably won't be back unless we hear of big changes in their modus-operandi.

New Tex-Mex restaurant located in Fenton retail/restaurant district in Cary, NC. Great decor and space with outdoor dining, enclosed patio dining, and a main dining area. Seating also available at the bar in main dining space. The menu does not have a huge selection of items but the food is fresh and flavorful and not like “typical” Mexican food you can get at a locally owned Mexican restaurant (although I love those places too!). Was there for lunch and it seems that the menu is the same as the dinner menu although there is a different menu for brunch. I went with the tacos al carbon with brined and smoked chicken. Absolutely delicious! First the tacos were stuffed and I mean FULL of pieces of chicken and the flavor….the chicken had a smokey flavor that wasn’t fake or overpowering and inside the tacos were smoked onions. Great combo. As a garnish the plate had some lettuce, pico and cheese which I added to the first taco I had, but it wasn’t necessary; they are good just as they are. They came with a green salsa which also was very flavorful. Highly recommend. Three tacos were included, I was full at one but managed to eat two (because they were sooooo good) and brought third one home. The other person in my party had the hard shell taco dinner and was able to get 2 ground beef tacos and one chicken Tonga (you dont need to order 3 of the same kind which was good). she also enjoyed her meal. Chips and salsa were brought to the table with 2 sauces; not sure what they were exactly. The chips were fresh, and thin and crispy. The sauces were also very good. One was green and smooth and and the chunky and brown and it had a smokey flavor. I also enjoyed a hibiscus margarita. Again, great presentation and flavor, although the only drawback was it took forever to get which didn’t make sense since the bar wasn’t busy. It came right as the food came out even though I had ordered it before the food order was even placed. would have given it a 5 star rating, however, the prices are HIGH for lunch and my drink took forever to get.

So upon walking in the hostess was not the "mostest" we tried to get a table for 5 and she told us we would have to wait 90 minutes because we were considered a "large party. " I have never known a party of 5 to be large but, ok! We walked away disappointed because the food looked great but we knew we wouldn't be able to get in. Luck was on our side because we decided to make a reservation and we got in an hour later. Upon walking in, the friendly bartender made a great margarita and we were greeted with the best waiter ever... "Five" and boy did he earn Five Stars. He made our dining experience hands down amazing and the manager Miles exceeded our expectation with his friendly demeanor and exceptional customer service. What started out to be a not so great experience quickly tuned into one of the best Mexican meals of our lives. Miles and Five did everything right. Smiles on their faces and going the extra mile were just a few things they did right. Both Miles and Five attending to our needs and suggested great pairings for our food choices. If I could give Ben both 1000 stars I would. We don't have a Miles or Five in Florida but if we did... I'd be there everyday. Thank you for making everything right. Thank you for the memories and laughs. My only disappointment was I can't take the food home to Florida. Hands down best restaurant in NC. So go in and ask for their table and tell them the Florida girls sent you!

What an amazing experience! Here's the story. Me and 9 of my friends went to see the Barbie movie. We decided to eat dinner at this restaurant because it was right next door. We had a 7:30 showtime. We arrived around 6ish and ordered drinks. We then placed our food order at 6:30. We waited, and waited for the food to arrive. about 40 minutes later, 4 of the orders came out. We were still waiting on the other six. Now during all of this time our waitress was checking on us and making sure we had chips and salsa and drinks. Doing her best to assure us the food would be out shortly. Well about 45 minutes into this wait, I decided to approach the manager and acknowledge that I could see there were a number of large groups, however, we had been the for some time and I wanted to know when we would be served our additional orders. Mind you the group was getting restless and some wanted to cancel their orders. The manager went to check on where the food was and what had happened. 50 minutes later the food showed up, but by this time we needed to leave. The waitress brought out take away containers and we filled them up, hoping we could finish our dinner at the movie. Then the manager came out and said that the issue was all their fault and he comped everyone's food and drinks. We did ask him to be sure to charge the gratuity for the waitress, since it was not her fault at all. We took our food, and went to the movie and were able to enjoy the fabulous food. And believe me it was so yummy. The 2 salsas you get are so tasty, the best I have ever had. But that was not the end of the story. After the movie we were laughing and having a grand time and walked out of the theatre and waiting for us was the manager. He had taken the time to bring all of us and order of chips and salsa and the most fantastic desert!!! We were all blown away by the customer service and the integrity of this gentleman. I didn't catch his name, which I will get when I visit the next time. All of us were impressed and will return. Please take the time to experience the food and the hospitality of this restaurant. It will not disappoint!!!! Tried to add photos, google server would not...
