My experience with the Casper Humane Society began online searching for a dog---who would be a new addition to my house. Finally I called to ask about a dog listed online. First question was she still available. Second was about an adoption form(as it is not on the web site). Final question---fee to adopt.
The gentleman went on to ask when I could come "meet" the dog---and explained after two or three visits, then I could fill out the adoption form.
At this time I am very concerned about the well-being of this young female dog. She is shy and needs to bond with a new household soon. I again explained that I lived in Sheridan----and my plan was one trip to pay the required fee & TAKE the dog home!
He informed me that was not possible. Frustration is now simmering. I did a Google search to find the Director's name or a list of Board Members----nothing listed. So I called back to ask the name of the Director and he informed me that he was the Director.
I raised, bred, & showed Labrador Retrivers for more than 20 years. However a beloved mix breed (in my house since coming as a puppy in 2004) died Friday night. Left behind is a Cairan Terrier (who does not understand death) and ME! The dog that caught my eye would be a great fit.
I DISLIKE HAVING TO GIVE A BAD REVIEW, BUT THE POLICIES OF MULTIPLE VISITS, ETC ARE NOT GOOD . I BELIEVE AS THIS SHY DOG AGES WITHOUT A FOREVER HOME--- WILL BECOME MORE DIFFICULT TO PLACE. I DO NOT RECCOMEND ADOPTING FROM THE CASPER...
Read moreVery Rude! Horrible experience! I went in to adopt a dog for our family, I was asked questions that I answered then was given an application and my 2 young kids and I were taken in a small room with a potential dog. I was rushed to fill this application out, leaving what few spaces blank that I assumed weren’t important. Two days later my husband and I went back to visit the dog we wanted to adopt and we were asked other questions that slightly contradicted the previous questions asked causing confusion. Then I was blankly called a liar over and over again even though when asked about this past history I completely answered all her questions. On top of that I was told she didn’t think we would properly take care of this pet and that we need to go get an animal somewhere else! Iv never been so hurt, we are good people and just wanted to get a family dog and they denied this baby a good loving home all for nothing over nothing! We were so devastated! This was the most unprofessional experience I have...
Read moreWho pays almost $200 for a kitten?!?! Honestly ppl are GIVING them away FREE left and right, which saves you that money to get them Fixed & buy their shots cheap at Murdock, I realize that it's likely to keep it up and running to buy food for animals, you have volunteers instead of employees to pay, & obvious utilities etc BUT is it really a big of a issue that a kitten is worth it to a sensible individual and the price to go get a litter box, cat litter scooped, litter, food, toys, nip, scratching pads, do it yourself shots? No not at all considering they have $25 adult cats.. Not really since I have gotten a $25 cat from here and she was sick and killed over in less than a month! Go to pound and save the life of a innocent kitten who's sitting on death row waiting to be euthanize for $50 SMH how foolish and greedy as I've got a sick dog from here as well who didn't make it a year... I do NOT recommend this past taking a animal here you can't keep do to moving,...
