For us, we had the misfortune of several major appliances going out in about a year and a half. We bought a refrigerator, freezer and a dishwasher. The sales staff was good and the delivery guys are outstanding being cautious to bring things in and out, and getting everything set up. Our problems started recently when we developed issues with our stove and the dishwasher stopped working. Our stove was going out so we called Cost Plus to see what they had in gas stoves. They were to call us back, but never did so we ordered our gas stove from Menards, who did a fantastic job ordering and scheduling for us. Then our dishwasher went out after only three months. I called the Cost Plus service department on a Monday and the lady said they had an opening on Wednesday. A time was set and on Wednesday about a half hour after the appointed time I called to ask where the repair man was and was told our appointment was next Wednesday. Next Wednesday rolls around and the repair man arrives to tell us our motor is bad, but he isn’t surprised because they have had problems in the past with these models. There is a 21 day waiting period, but already knew they didn’t have parts, but he would check and get back to us the following day and suggested we call the company ourselves to maybe get it expedited since it was only 3 months old. Again we didn’t hear back from anyone. On Monday I called the service department to see why we didn’t hear from the repairman and to get a phone number for the company. The lady started going off saying no one told her she was supposed to call us and there was no need for us to call the company because it wasn’t going to do any good. I told her this was just what the repairman told us to do. She finally gave us the number but never did anyone apologize for the inconvenience and miscommunication that was caused. I decided to report all of this to the Cost Plus management. I called gave a quick summary of what had happened and was advised I would need to speak to the owner Nick, who was out of the office and would call the following day. After another day passed and the owner never called, I called again to ask to speak to him and was told they would text him to call right away since he was traveling to Cody. As of today, a week later, we still have not heard from Nick. We want to support local businesses, but how do you do that when they don’t seem to care? Menards gave us excellent customer service, followed up with us and did a fantastic job with the delivery.    Read moreWe had to go through Cost Plus for our Microwave Warranty. Our microwave started blowing our breaker every time we tried to microwave something. We called our warranty company and they set up the service with Cost Plus. They came and picked up the microwave and held on to it for three months. We called repeatedly to check the status and the only reply we could get from them was that they were working on it, but thought it must be something wrong with our electrical at home. They kept telling us it would turn on there for them, so we do not think they tried to actually microwave anything, but just turned on the fan and light. We had tried several outlets at home outside of the kitchen too, so we were pretty sure it was not our electrical. Eventually we just asked Cost Plus to give our microwave back. We called our warranty company again and this time they set us up with A&E Factory Service. This company came out, ran our microwave here at our house, figured out it was a bad switch in the microwave, switched it out, and reinstalled our microwave over our range. They did all this in an hour and our microwave is working great now. Cost Plus did not try figure out what was wrong, and dismissed our problems with it. I bought a new Amana washer from them 8/19/24 it worked for a week 8/27/24 then suddenly stopped working that’s fine call get on a list to get it looked at then they say the control board is bad two weeks go by the tec comes and puts it on ask the tec can you stay to make sure it make it through a full cycle was told they don’t do that and surprise surprise I didn’t work call them back tell them to have him come back asap he proceeded to tell me he forgot to plug a vacuum line in and it should be good after that we run a cycle and low an behold it’s running fine but the rinse and final spin have now swapped places and now as of 9/16/24 it has stopped working again
The sales team is good polite and helpful but when you call for service or warranty your sent to voicemail everytime unless you call the sales person and ask to speak to warranty honestly I’m tired of playing games with this company I try to shop locally but when they continue to screw you at every turn it makes it hard to trust them at this point an time I would be happy with my money back or a different unit as this one is...
