I am going to give this review one star. First of all, let me say that I loved their furniture and their selection and maybe would shop there again. However, I will say this: first and foremost, our sales agent, who did a great job in explaining things, was nice me, but for some reason horribly rude and curt with my wife, and my wife felt bad after we left the store. THAT should never happen, and I am upset I didn't say something while we were there.
Even as we were checking out he asked what kind of free gift we would like for spending $5500 in their store, and he was incredibly short and mean to my wife as she decided between the two gifts. We just spent a good amount of money in your store for which you probably get a commission, treat us professionally- we've earned it!!! By far the rudest we have ever seen, and we did our best to be kind in return. Why? Because we try to be decent, he should learn from us.
The other issue, when the first sofas arrived at our house the delivery men put it together in the truck and then brought it in on a small dolly, which damaged the sofa, then they lied to us and said that the contortions on the sofa are normal, because it is a recliner. We had them take it back and give us a new one, after the lady on the phone said they would send a technician out. Yup, send a technician out on a brand new sofa that just arrived at my house. Nope, I don't think so. Give us a non-broken brand new sofa.
All in all, here is the thing. This would get a 3 or 4 star review all in all. But, there is no excuse for treating people impatiently. I am thinking/hoping the salesman was just having a bad day. But in sales and customer service, treating the customer with a lack of respect should be addressed.
**so, 08/18/2023 and we still have never heard from them. It's funny. Since the date we were mistreated at this place we have spent thousands on other items that we could have bought at Baers. Oh well.........

Read moreWe will never do business with this company again and I suggest you don’t either! On 10/5, we looked for a bedroom set and worked with the sales person Greg. After finding out the bed was on back order until March we left to look elsewhere. I really loved the furniture so I went back later that day to purchase it. Greg told us they had everything in stock except the bed. I was clear that as long as they had everything available except the bed we could live with that, Greg assured us! We bought the bedroom suite and a few other pieces of furniture all were to be delivered the next week. When the delivery crew came they did not have our dresser and said it was on back order. I spoke to the manager Tim who stated Greg did contact me and was looking at a signed contract that I agreed to the delay. When he forwarded me the paperwork it was clear my signature has been forged and I did not sign that contract. I refused the entire delivery. Later that day Tim called me back and said Greg had been terminated and profusely apologized and agreed to cancel the sale. I felt he handled the situation properly by terminating Greg and stated I still wanted the furniture. He then offered a loaner dresser until ours arrived and to “heavily” discount the dresser once it did come in. We accepted the delivery of pieces in stock. This week, almost 6 weeks later, we found out Greg never got terminated for forging my signature on a contract, meaning they condone that type of business. He also didn’t discount the dresser at all, just waived delivery. So he essentially lied to me that day as well just to make the sale. I asked for them to cancel the entire sale and was told we can cancel the bed and dresser but we’re stuck with the items already delivered which is a desk a nightstands. We did file a police report on Greg for the forgery but are stuck either purchasing the bed and dresser so our suite matches or fighting this further. Read moreLike probably most people I do not write reviews. In fact, my whole life, I have written only three about my experience at three different establishments.They were negative reviews and resulted from the fact that I was disappointed with the service received.
One way you know how seriously an establishment cares about the people they serve or their reputation is how they react to their customers' complaints. Of those three establishments who had received the negative reviewsh from me, only one not only responded but did so impressively. Bear's Furniture Co. Inc. and for that I applaud them and I am eternally grateful. The same day I wrote the review, I received a phone call from the vice president of the company who totally owned the problem, offered his apologies and worked with me to address the issue. Throughout the process he stayed in touch with me, remained accessible and kept his promise to keep me updated constantly.
Our furniture was delivered. Three trucks and an army of men were involved in the delivery. When my neighbor asked if I had purchase the whole store I responded no sir just a bedroom set and apparently it comes with a lot of customer care. The bedroom set was absolutely perfect and my wife loves it which is extraordinary. In addition it is stronger than any bedroom set I had seen anywhere and will no doubt last a lifetime.
