Our reasoning for buying a spa in Florida was 2 fold - we wanted both a jetted bath tub and a small heated pool but were unwilling to take on the expense of either. Our solution became to get a spa! We almost made the mistake of purchasing one online. Thank goodness our rationality took over. When you buy a spa online or from a big box store, they literally drop it off on your driveway and leave without you ever even testing it, installing it or seeing the quality. That's it. The spa and how to maintain and fix it are on you.
What we decided we needed was a relationship with a local, highly reputed spa dealer. This became important to us because, if you ever have a problem, you want to be able to call trustworthy professionals that know your product inside and out. Spas etc is that place. From the moment you walk in, Stacy is your shining light! This company is miraculously still a family run business (since 1984 they said) where they clearly work hard to earn your respect. Her goal is apparent upon first conversation - which is to find the right spa for you. Not price driven, not sales pressure driven, but the spa that fits your individual needs. Period.
When we started researching spas, we didnt realize the gap in quality and service that exist. Hot Springs is one of the premium brands in the world, but the price tag is actually affordable, which was surprising to us. The important differences that a premium brand like Hot Springs offers is the dense foam insulation that saves you money in electric (our 3 person spa costs us a mere $600/year to run), the motors are far more powerful leading to of course better jets/massages/water circulation, and a great filtration system that keeps your spa low maintanence (emptying your spa once every six months only). Additionally, when Spas etc deliver and install your spa, they hook up the electric, test the spa, and give you a mini class on maintanence success - which is awesome and de-stressing.
As I read back through this, it sounds like I'm trying to sell you a hot tub. But in reality, I'm just bestowing information on you that took us a while to obtain to make the best decision. The amount of relaxation and restful nights from our stress laden lives our spa brings us we can no longer put a price on frankly. And having such a reliable company to work with that has been around for so long is such a huge asset.
So bring your bathing suits and test the spas (that's right, they totally encourage it - free bottled waters provided!) but also inspect the quality/craftsmanship of the American made product and fantastic service at Spas etc for yourself. We did and we thank our lucky spa every day! Happy...
Read moreHot Spring Spas are the best hot tubs you can buy. In 2003 I was on the market for a hot tub. I wet test Sundance Spas and they were good but the filtration system is not as good as Hot Springs Spas which is a true 100% filtration system. I also contacted ThermoSpas and found that they are maybe the BMW or MB on price and that they do not have a local representative. So when things go bad it can be expensive. I was looking for a spa that was as reliable like a Toyota.
Today, 15 years later, the spa is working fine and I open the front panel for routine maintenance and found that the box for IQ2020 or SPA Control System is coming a part. The box is made out plastic and it is coming apart.
Went to visit my old friends at Spas Etc. and Stacy remember me and call me by the first name. I explained to her what was happening and told her that the Control Panel went for around $800. I express to her that all I needed was the BOX. Stacy could told me, that the part only comes as one unit and that she could order one for me.
Instead she asked a few more questions and told me to follow her. We went walk toward the back and to what appears to be the work bench and on one of the shelves she pulls “the box”. After a few minutes later we found the exact match. I was able to walk away with the part and save a ton.
If you are on the marker for a SPA do yourself a favor and look around, wet test every spa you like. If they cannot wet test - DO NOT BUY! You can buy a SPA anywhere in Central Florida, but you will never get the Service, Parts, and CUSTOMER SERVICE SPA ETC offers. Yeap, you may pay a bit more HERE, but you will not regret the investment. Listen, 15 Years later we still enjoy our Grandee. Looking forward to replace the boards into the new home and hope to...
Read moreWe originally wanted a pool. Nothing could sway us. Then we had dinner at a friend’s house, and they had just gotten their new spa from Spa, Etc. running. My husband jumped in, and although it was a warm spring evening, he fell in love. Thus began our journey of finding the perfect spa. Even though our friend recommended Spa, Etc. and the Hot Springs brand of spa, we continued to do our due diligence by shopping around, reading reviews and expert-written articles, and comparing features and numbers. I guess we should have taken our friend’s word for it when he said Hot Springs had the best, as that’s what our own research found. Stacy at Spas, Etc. was incredibly helpful in then narrowing down the model to the one that would suit our needs. She even invited us to stop by and try out several different models. We ordered our custom spa, and the installation went without hassle and on time. In fact, the installer gave us so much useful advice to help us keep our spa running perfectly for as long as we own it. We’ve stopped by Spa, Etc. to pick up maintenance supplies, and I’m always surprised to hear Stacy greet us by our last name, even months after our purchase. The spa itself has been soooooo amazing, especially since I started weightlifting. Not sure I could have made those back-to-back training sessions without this unit. It soothes my achey muscles and allows my husband and me to enjoy a brief, tech-free window of time together where we can just relax and catch up with each other’s days. Overall, I’d say this was probably one of the smartest purchases we’ve ever made: 100% no buyer’s remorse! Will be a Spas, Etc....
