My husband and I just had the most horrible experience in this place. It was our first time going to this restaurant as we drive by it very often to and from our home in the area. We were received by a very rude female cashier that treated us like we were the scum of the earth. My husband is American and enjoys latin american food a lot. He noticed me trying to patiently speak to the female cashier first in English and then switched to Spanish, as she looked like she didn't comprehend English very well or just didn't want to talk to me. But something set her off when I switched to Spanish, as she very rudely walked away while we were trying to order off the menu. So my husband told her that we were not finished ordering to which we received a very stern and rude look. My husband then told me to leave the place, as we were done being mistreated. While getting in our car this gentleman came out and asked us what happened. My husband was livid at the treatement we received by the female cashier and he made sure to tell the gentleman, who graciously told us he would serve us. But the magic was gone. It has left a very sour taste in our mouths as we had never been treated in such a way by a fellow latino, which is a shame. We will never again visit that place. We got the feeling that the guy that came out to talk to us was the manager... and unfortunately we suspect the female cashier was either his wife or girfriend. If that's the case...he is in deep trouble having that female cashier dealing and mistreating the customers. By the way... my husband is an executive in one of the theme parks in Orlando, and I am a professional in the energy arena. We stopped at your restaurant right after we spent the whole day working in our new very expensive home we just bought in the area. Train your employees never to judge customers by the way they look. Shame on you and your very rude female cashier. Les quedo muy...
Read moreLet me start with I absolutely love Cuban food!! I look fwd to it every time I come to Florida. So when I looked for Cuban food near me on Google this place comes up with a 4.6 star . So you best believe I’m hitting this place up. Come in and I see there are seats so I want to dine in. There are no signs that say otherwise order first then sit. So the place was empty and I sit down and wait for Service. Since I’m new to the area I don’t know better. A bunch of customers come in and order at the register, mind you the workers that were there didnt greet me or say anything. So I was like well I guess I have to order them sit huh? I laughed and didn’t think much of it , I have a 9 hr drive and I just want a pan con bistec . Saw the menu and it said pan con bistec but apparently they add cheese to it?!? I was like that’s not it and I told the lady don’t call it pan con bistec if it’s not that, it doesn’t come with cheese. That’s called steak and cheese! So I asked is this a Cuban place or a hybrid mix of it? So I was like ok what ever no cheese on it . I sit down and wait, I get my sandwich and it’s cubbed steak instead of thin steak so immediately turn off. Ate half of it and couldn’t finish it because it tasted like straight trash. I was extremely disappointed because I really wanted an authentic pan con bistec and what I got was the WISH version of it. I do not recommend anyone that appreciates authentic Cuban food because it will disappoint you to the max! They should just call this place sandwiches on the run 🏃🏽♂️ because the Cuban part...
Read moreI had a bad experience here for only my second time. The first time I ate here in person, it was just meh. This second time I ordered Uber Eats. Things were altered without even calling me first or refunding items/suggesting replacements. As someone born and raised in South Florida, this place is a disgrace to real Cuban food. This is sad for me to have to write this, but it might be the worst food I’ve ever ordered for take out. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Cubans on the Run but from my experiences, it has proven to be false.
Our order included a roast pork sandwich, a plate of ropa vieja, and a guava and cheese pastelito. First, the roast pork sandwich was just gross and my boyfriend couldn’t even finish the other half by how unpleasant it was. It tasted like cured deli meat and didn’t look at all like actual roast pork. The bread was soggy, there was no onions. The ropa vieja was dry, had no of the sauce and no potatoes. The maduros were barely cooked, they were still firm inside. And about 75% of the container was rice. The guava and cheese pastelito was swapped out for a “quesito.” I have it in quotations because it has no sugar on the outside, the filling was literally straight salty cream cheese, and it wasn’t crispy at all. It was like eating a cream cheese sandwich.
Overall, extremely disappointing and honestly really turned off any chance of me wanting to come back here...
