Cardenas Markets — Local services in Cathedral City

Today I went to Cardenas off Date Palm. I wanted to make some tamales and they have masa already prepared. Ad said it was on sale for $1.99 per pound. I went to get some and first she wanted to give me garbanzo beans for pazole even though I asked for masa. So I made it clear masa for tameles. Sign said what the ad said $1.99 per pound. She rang me up and it was $11 almost $12 for both bags. I was like that doesn't seem correct. I paid got to my car and checked my reciept and masa. She charged me $2.19 per pound. So I paid like $1.50 per package more. I went back in just to tell someone. I asked the cashier who was speaking english with a coworker. She thought I was going to be problematic before even knowing what I had to say. Turned around and grunted and acted like ahe didn't speak english. That's two now. Another cashier she pawned me off to helped. wish I got her name cause she heard me out and was even about to take action but that wasn't what I wanted. It was principle. The workers and taking advantage of people they don't think speak spanish. They were very dismissive too which she saw for herself. I started speaking to her in Spanish to make it clear I didn't appreciate being robbed or dismissed. At that point the cashier that dismissed me looked over because she knew I was talking about her as well. What they didn't know is that I was. Google guide and would share me experience. Cardenas might have what you need but employees are dishonest if opportunity arise. check your reciepts. I shop here off and on. mainly for specific items since it is a distance from my home. All I wanted was to make some authentic tamales. Hoy fui a Cárdenas frente a Date Palm. Quería hacer unos tamales y ya tienen masa preparada. Ad dijo que estaba a la venta a $ 1.99 la libra. Fui a buscar un poco y primero quiso darme garbanzos para pazole a pesar de que le pedí masa. Así que lo hice clara masa para tameles. Sign decía lo que decía el anuncio $ 1,99 por libra. Me llamó y me costó $ 11 casi $ 12 por ambas maletas. Pensé que eso no parece correcto. Pagué, llegué a mi auto y verifiqué mi recibo y masa. Me cobró 2,19 dólares la libra. Así que pagué como $ 1,50 por paquete más. Regresé solo para contárselo a alguien. Le pregunté al cajero que hablaba inglés con un compañero de trabajo. Otro cajero con el que me empeñó me ayudó. Desearía saber su nombre porque ella me escuchó y estaba a punto de actuar, pero eso no era lo que quería. Fue un principio. Los trabajadores y aprovechándose de personas que no creen que hablan español. También fueron muy despectivos, lo que ella vio por sí misma. Empecé a hablar con ella en español para dejarle claro que no apreciaba que me robaran o me despidieran. En ese momento, la cajera que me despidió miró hacia arriba porque sabía que yo también estaba hablando de ella. Lo que no sabían es que yo lo estaba. Guía de Google y compartiría mi experiencia. Cárdenas puede tener lo que necesita, pero los empleados son deshonestos si surge la oportunidad. revisa tus recibos. Having such a lager Latin American Market so close to home is an added pride to our community. Walking in to the Cardenas Market gave me a sense of excitement from traditional candy's to foods that could not be found in any other markets. Over the years the quality of products sold has noticeably diminished. Including the friendliness of staff. I've had dairies, salsas and other items spoil well before their time. Today I had someone in the meat section lick their finger to open a plastic back and then use the same hand to handle bare cheese. Without an apron or a protected layer, that someone uses their torso to guide the strips of cheese into the bag. I didn't want to leave a negative message as most of my experienced in the past years have been fantastic and would sometimes brag about to those that didn't have a market like Cardenas. I've been to this location more than a few times and it seems everytime we go to this location and get hot food that's already made, either the employees in that section of the market are rude or not helpful. So I'm here waiting with my family like the other two people in front of me and the same employee that couldn't help me because she said it wasn't her job decides to serve an employee who's on break but won't help customers. I would've give 0 stars because every time I've been to this location it's not the best experience. Mind you the line was more than 6 people when I decided to leave. You don't see the other two people that were in the front in the picture. I get it being short staffed but that no reason to ignore the customers.
