It was very busy, but the food was not authentic. It was clearly made for a clientele that does not know or does not want authentic Japanese food. I had ramen, which was not ramen, it was actually Ramyun, the Korean version of ramen. I can't be sure but it seemed to be an augmented version of instant noodle. The presentation was very messy, and while the price was very inexpensive, the value was worth less than the meal. Jalapeno Poppers were good, fresh jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna. Chicken teriyaki for children was ok. The chicken was notably well cooked, but over sauced. The sushi we got was what is traditionally called barazushi, but this was kind of a mix of barazushi and ceviche. Not the flavor profile we were looking for. The cuts of fish were also not great, and the presentation was again really messy. Both the ramen and the "sushi" were unappetizing to look at. I feel the clientele who were predominantly Hispanic might be used and like the flavor profiles produced by the restaurant and if that is a flavor profile you like, it's probably pretty good I say stay away from the ramen, but the deep fried goods seemed good, and the rolls looked pretty good. The hand rolls looked good too. Overall reasonable in pricing, but if you're looking for authentic Japanese food, you need to...
Read morei never post reviews. ever. but this one was too much and i’m very sad to post it because this was my favorite go to restaurant. bert great serve and the cooks were absolutely warm which makes me more disappointed to post this.
i’ve always loved eating here. when things go wrong sometimes, i give them the benefit of the doubt. always came back and tipped more than 20%, even though i never eat inside the restaurant.
yesterday (23 november 2021, around 12-2pm), i made a phone order for a chicken teriyaki plate. i found a piece of hair on my rice, i just brushed it off. i understand things can get in the food sometimes, so i don’t really make a big deal about it. but halfway into eating my teriyaki chicken, i would find more pieces of hair in the sauce. i thought “hmm maybe it’s mine,” so i kept picking them off. but things started getting weird. i felt like it wasn’t my hair so i dug from under the entree and found MORE hair. this is absolutely disgusting, almost rude. it almost makes me feel like they intentionally did this. i was going to just email this to them privately as i’m not really a fond of being public with these things, but i want to let other customers know about this one.
i would love to come back here, but considering yesterday, its very hard to support this...
Read morePopular place. Although they do have hamachis and a full assortment of fresh sushi, sashimi, teriyaki combos, and other traditional Japanese fare, the big seller here is rolls. With many creative combinations, often with tempura and/or spicy elements, and lots of different creamy sauces. Most of them fall into the category of comfort food, and satiate the desires of the regulars. I could even see getting a craving for it. I liked it. But I'm not sure how traditional the emphasis on fancy rolls is. Although attentive, staff wanted to take multiple orders for each item. Different people would come by and asked to take our order, for each item: drinks, the starter, then the meal. It took a long time to get the first dish, but they were all very elaborate and the place was packed. The protein roll was difficult to eat, a real chopstick test, but good, if meager. They had forgotten our 'starter' of stuffed shrimp, which came at the end. It was deliciously gooey, as was another one which was prominently featured on the menu. Not a lot of care in the individual sushi order, but everything was fresh and otherwise well made. No waiting on a Monday Valentine's day although they purportedly often...
