Ethan Allen — Local services in Chadds Ford Township

We had an excellent experience shopping for new furniture at Chadds Ford Ethan Allen. Abigail Wise was absolutely amazing! She helped us identify the couches based on our preferences during our first store visit and then came to our home with a different swatches so we could pick one that looked nice with the rest of the room. We wanted modern sofas, but we also have some very old family carved wood and cane family heirloom furniture. She gave us a ton of ideas how to incorporate the new sofas with the old chairs and provided us references for local upholsters who can help make seat cushions for the old furniture that will go well with the new sofas. Abigail even gave us some great ideas for our formal living room and foyer furniture re-arrangement (which we were not buying the furniture for at this time). She took the measurements and sent us the plans with the pieces we had selected later on that same day and worked with us to modify things as we needed. When I went back to the store to finalize everything, she brought out samples of furniture parts (e.g., chair legs) that looked similar to some of our old carved wooden furniture to put next to the couch we had selected, which was on the flour in the store, so I can see how it will go together. We truly received exceptional personalized service and consultation, which was very helpful! The couches arrived yesterday - more than a month earlier than the tentative delivery date we were given!

We will definitely go back to Chadds Ford Ethan Allen and to Abigail for our future home...

Yesterday my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Mark McIntyre when we walked into the Ethan Allen store on 202 in Chadds Ford. He immediately introduced himself and we were pleased when he invited us to browse the store on our own and let us know when he could assist. And assist he did! From beginning to end, our experience with Mark was exceptional. He was professional, charismatic, patient, knowledgeable and efficient. He took the time to listen to our needs, learn our taste, review our photos, and then quickly set to work showing us various options and guiding us in our selections. He has over 20 years of experience in various locations, and it was evident that he has impressed many others as we saw photos of rooms he has completed for clients who keep going back to him. By the time we were finished, what began as an appointment for a sofa included armchairs, an ottoman and a carpet - a one stop shop to complete an entire new room in our home. Mark never pushed, yet his confident referrals and understanding of our style resulted in us truly trusting and valuing his opinion. What an incredible asset Ethan Allen has in Mark! Working with Susan Lucci was a great experience! I had an idea (famous last words) and I needed "unbiased affirmation" that it was going to work. My family was balking at changing the layout of our family room around, but for years (decades!) I had felt that a total new arrangement, which involved committing to different furniture that would not fit in the room as it was arranged, was the way to go. I respected Ethan Allen's reputation, and on my first visit I met Susan Lucci. I'm sure she thought I was not going to come back, but she listened, and showed me everything she had to offer that may work for me, including fabric selections and wood finishes. I went home with photos and ideas that I could think about in my space, and decided that garnering her actual opinion of my space was the next step. She came out to our home, listened, measured, brought swatches, (agreed with my idea), and created an virtual plan of how the room would look that we could actually look at. I loved it! She helped me decide when I was torn between two fabric colors, or three wood finishes, etc. And she listened to what I didn't like, just as important as what you do like.
