CAT Auto Center — Local services in Chambersburg

I had a radiator replaced at Chambersburg Auto Transmission, and whithin 400 miles of driving, the car began overheating and leaking coolant. When I called to inform them that I suspected there had been an air pocket in the cooling system (which any reasonably good mechanic should know to purge after opening any part of the cooling system) which caused the overheating, the manager on duty denied any responsibility, claiming I had somehow caused the damage.

I was not looking for a free fix for a new issue, nor did I lead him to believe I was. I simply wanted to know when they could look at it to determine what the cause of the new issue was. He vehemently continued to deny responsibility for the issue (I never accused him of being at fault) and refused to look at my car until the following week.

Not only do I think Chambersburg Automatic Transmission is employing irresponsible, corner-cutting mechanics, but I believe they must run into this type of issue commonly, due to the managers overly-defensive position when asked about the new issue.

I would not recommend going here for even a simple oil change, much less any extensive repairs. 0/10 - Don't waste your money here.

EDIT: We took the car in to Scott's, about 2 blocks down the road from CAT, and they found the issue, (air pocket in cooling system) had it purged and replaced an O-ring that had blown due to the pressure buildup in the cooling system. $20.13 and less than 30 minutes later, the car is running...

I can’t give CAT enough stars! These are good, honest people!! I had my van towed to them without having the slightest clue what was wrong. CAT was able to provide me everything that was wrong, as well as options on how I could get it serviced and pricing options WITHOUT even charging me! Most places want you to pay just to even have it looked at anymore. My van was done in a timely manner & I was kept up to date throughout the entire process. Excellent experience. Had the tow truck take my truck there thinking my transmission was done with. These gentlemen diagnosed my issue the next business day in the morning. Contacted me about the repair and had it fixed and I picked it up the next day. Very trustworthy and friendly people. What probably would have been a $4500 repair at many transmission places was actually only a couple hundred. They even called me about a week later to check to make sure everything was good to go.
