Jose was excellent as a masseuse. He I give 5 stars and recommend to everyone.
Isabella on the other hand, 1 star service. She did an otherwise nice facial, but cut a critical element out of my facial (extractions) without asking me, without saying a word until the whole thing was ended and I actually asked what about extracting the blackheads, so if I hadn't asked she wouldn't have said anything and just walked me out of there like what she did was the full service! Did she think I wouldn't notice?... She only addressed what I said concerned me MOST (dry chin area) instead of all issues obvious on my face such as dark areas under my cheeks, sunspots... I haven't had a facial in years, I told her it's my birthday, and still got such a disappointing experience. Really off-putting. She said at the beginning she analyzes you gave during the cleansing and would make recommendations, but she only made recommendations for what I mentioned nothing added using her own powers of observation. Jose understandably cut the massage time because I came late and he wanted to not cut into Isabella's time after my massage, so I don't understand why after that concession was made for her she didn't do the full job and didn't warn me in advance that she wouldn't be able to get to the full facial so I could choose what was a must have! English is not Jose's first language and even he knew to give me the option of what I wanted worked on and what I was willing to skip, zero problems there.
She speaks very soothingly but comes across in the end as uncaring and careless. If she had spoken up I would have skipped the several minutes of steaming at the end for the extractions instead, so I'm getting the feeling she just didn't feel like doing them. :( I really was going to leave the whole tip for just Jose because he fully earned it but I decided to be nice and let them keep it at the default 50/50 split. A pretty face and a smooth voice does not a professional make. And I see other complaints about her on here which leads me to believe she is picking and choosing which customers she is giving proper service and should be asked to find employment somewhere else so the spot can be taken by someone who treats and communicates with EVERY customer the same great and thorough way. If not for her I'd have signed up for a membership on the strength of Jose's professionalism and expertise alone.
I would have given 4 stars instead of 3 if management at the front desk when I reported this issue and knowing it was my birthday had offered to have someone else do my extractions at no additional charge, even if that meant scheduling it for another day, just to show some commitment to me getting what I scheduled and paid for, since I made it clear it was a critical element and I was not given a choice about not having it done. I specifically chose them over other spas advertising specials because the facial special mentioned it included extractions so I didn't have to guess whether I was getting it or not. There is no point to me going to a spa for a facial if I leave with blackheads...

I received a spa finder gift card and as you can see the spavia name is on the packaging. I jumped at a chance to go get a much needed facial and TeNia was great and the service was good. But the experience was ruined when I got to check out. because again, no signage no knowledge that they decided to not honor these gift cards anymore even though as the person who purchased the gift card mentioned: itâs on spafinder website! anyways, get to checkout and she takes the card, scans it and then states âoh yea we had problems in the past with these let me reach out to my managerâ she proceeds to advise the manager texted her and they no longer take them. I asked what could be done for my inconvenience as I would not have even come here had I known and she offers me $20 off. I was already getting that amount off as it was my first visit so I assumed it would be $40 off but boy was I wrong. iâll be also complaining to the BBB as it wrong. point blank. i could pay it even though it was not in my budget but imagine someone else coming with a gift to treat themselves and then get hit with this at checkout. if they canât afford it then what? this could have been EASILY avoided and corrected but it wasnât. it was like oh well. very poor experience due to this. iâll stick to my regular spot and hopefully this review will prompt change so no one else will have to deal with this.
