Merchant Square — Local services in Chandler

I stumbled across this huge antique store, the kind that feels more like a vintage village than a shop. It’s packed with vendor stalls, each one bursting with its own personality and style. The place just keeps going and going, with rows of collectibles, kitchenware, records, retro furniture, quirky signs, and so many other treasures. You think you’ll only stay for a few minutes, and the next thing you know, hours have passed and you’re still exploring.

I ended up finding a beautiful set of retro canisters that made the trip completely worth it. I was really hoping to find some with a mushroom design, but no luck this time. Still, the ones I picked up have that perfect seventies charm with warm colors and bold lettering, and they only cost forty dollars for the full set. Not bad at all.

One of the most striking things about the store was the amount of vintage blown glass vases. They were everywhere, in every shape and color you can think of. Some stalls displayed entire collections, and when the light hit them just right, it felt like looking at glass rainbows.

A great place to walk around just for fun or for antique purchases. Of course there's going to be the wayward last-year's-toys-that-his-mom-won't-let-him-keep-in-the-house-anymore guy's booth, and it appears there has been no slowage on the let's glue things together and paint them white infestation. But, maybe that means there's something for everyone here, from the lady who needs the word KITCHEN spray painted on fence wood in her kitchen to remember where she is, to the whitest guy you know who wants a beautiful wooden huge broken radio to class up the house for his star wars characters to set on. Just know that you can find some great antiques here amidst all of this too. It's great for dates, there's still some cool old tool vendors for the dudes, and it's also a great place to bring older family members to get them to talk about childhood remembrances. I've bought some really cool things from here.

*I've only successfully been to the backyard shop once. While jammed packed with ladies, I ended up with so many cuts from hot-glued-on rhinestone blue jeans and stains on my clothes from the still wet white paint on everything that I'll stick to the front from...

I love this place! It’s my favorite antique shopping place in the valley! Lots of unique things and I almost always find something I’m interested in buying. It should be noted that I debated on giving it a 3 star rating, based on some things that did not sit well with me, but that ultimately weren’t the stores decisions but the vendor booths decisions. For example: pricing things way higher than they are worth. Please do a little research beforehand. A Pokemon card tin is NOT worth 15 dollars it sells on Amazon eBay for 3 dollars or less. I have seen multiple vendors who try to pass off AI artwork as real. I also have seen a lot of items you can get at TJmax and other retailer stores listed as antiques with prices that are higher than the retail prices from their respective original stores!! I know it’s not a strictly “just antiques” store but please keep that in mind when shopping and do a little bit of research. There’s definitely scammy items and unfair priced items but not enough to make me not come here. The staff are always very nice and helpful. The BBQ restaurant also makes it worth coming to the store in its own! But I think that’s worth a...
