Alright, this place is great. The restaurant was clean and the people were friendly. Here’s the thing: if you’re the type of person that REQUIRES someone to greet you the moment you walk in the door, like some sort of sultan, you’re gonna be upset. They were staffed in a way that there wasn’t someone standing at the counter waiting for you to come in. I waited MAYBE 30-60 seconds and then was greeted by a kind lady that was happy to talk to me (I talk too much sometimes. See: this review) and answer my questions about the menu. For my first time I ordered a traditional 6 piece combo with a large fry and large drink. I ask the nice lady about the blue and red drinks depicted in the menu photos. KOOL-AID! No way. They have red, blue, and purple Kool-Aid. This is enough. We can end the review here, but we’re not. We are just getting started. My food took about 10 minutes to make and I ordered it to go. I wanna be home when I eat my wings. I safely nestle my bag of food and blue kool-aid in my vehicle and head home. On the drive, I’m smacked in the face with a delectable scent. The food began to speak to me in its native language. It called to me. I reach my hand into the bag while piloting my vehicle at the same time. My hand clutches a few fries from the bag, and as is the American way, I shove them into my mouth and begin to chew.
Wow. The taste. These fries are not an afterthought. They’re intentional. The flavor. A river of perfectly balanced potato and salt. I cursed at the windshield. Amazed at the quality and quantity. So delicious. My drive home had been transformed into a space exploration of flavor. All with perfectly sweetened Kool-Aid to wash it down.
As my spaceship (formerly SUV) comes in for a landing in my garage, I begin to get excited for my wings. Everything was so good already, how much better could it get? Well, buckle up.
I ordered two different flavors. The way they packaged them was with care and excellence. Three of my wings were dry rub and three were separately packaged in tin foil so the sauce didn’t get on anything else. How nice! I crunch into the first wing and DAMN how tasty. Delicious flavor, tons of crunch, and great sized wings. Even the ones in sauce were crunchy. I could only eat one of the sauced ones because of a mis-order on my part. The good news is, if you like hot wings, they have you covered too. They were spicy for sure.
The bottom line is this: great wings, great fries, and KOOL-AID. COME ON. Do yourself a favor and...
Read moreI thought I ordered @ ATL Wings in Tempe on Warner and Kyrene. At 4:20 I found out they didn’t have have my order. It was very clean and they were waiting for their last bit of pickups so they could leave early for Super Bowl Sunday. Note: Pay attention to location when ordering online. I went home to look up my order and realized the Tempe store was right, I inadvertently ordered from the Chandler store on Warner and Arizona. I got there close to 5PM; there was about 20 -30 people in the store, standing room only. I asked around and people had been waiting since 3PM. I was told there was a computer problem. The ladies at the counter were working furiously attempting to catch up with orders 1-2 hours late and I’m sure everyone in the back was working double time. No one was angry or yelling at the staff even though all of us including the staff were missing the Super Bowl. I realized this was the first time post Covid I had seen anybody waiting patiently for food let alone anything else and it was refreshing! I inquired about my food and it still wasn’t ready. Slowly people left with their food, Uber drivers were bolting with bags of delayed food, unkept commitments and I’m sure no tip. I waited another 30 minutes for my order. I got home my order was correct except one minor thing, it was hot, fresh and tasty. This was my fist experience at ATL. I’m sure next time will be better, but I was impressed under the circumstances. Kudos to the staff for keeping their kool, working hard and...
Read moreFour of us went and ordered food. After we got our food we got 6 packets of sauce. We tried one of the containers and it tasted like blue cheese. I went to the lady behind the register and told her that we wanted ranch and she told me flat out, “ it is ranch” so we went back and opened the other 5 containers and what did they taste like? Blue cheese. I got up again and told the same lady that we tried the rest of the containers, they were blue cheese. She then gives me an “oh my god” look and says “ that’s what we have as ranch.” I understand the menu says the wings come with ranch or blue cheese but the taste is very distinct and we are not fans of blue cheese. So I went back to my group and we ate the wings without ranch. A few minutes later, the same lady comes out with 4 more packets and said, “try these”. We tried the other 4 packets and lord and behold it’s blue cheese. I understand this restaurant probably gives out more ranch than blue cheese and the people who work there are use to seeing it more often, although there is a very big distinction on what ranch and blue cheese. With that being said I would appreciate it if the lady would at least try the flavoring before assuming...
