I have never left a bad review about anything in my life, but I literally had to say something about this. I just want to start off of by saying, the girl who did my hair was the absolute sweetest. So kind and was constantly asking me if I needed anything. The problem happened in the last 20 minutes or so.

I went in for a Keratin treatment. I have gotten Brazilian Blowouts about every 6 months for the past 10 years, and I just wanted to try something different. I just moved to Charleston in February and have naturally curly hair, so I’ve been adjusting to the humidity and frizzy hair. A Keratin treatment is supposed to be very nourishing for your hair and make your hair silky and healthy.

I have never left a salon looking and feeling uglier in my life. I don’t know if my stylist just did not know how to straighten hair, or if she was in a rush to leave since I was her last appointment. She completely did not straighten my roots (the treatment is heat activated) and left my hair looking dry, crunchy and frizzy. This felt like a very rushed job, and for $420 I’m not happy with it. I should not have to go home and finish straightening my hair after spending $420 ($350 + 20% tip). By the way you can’t wash or style your hair for at least day after getting this, so I guess I was expected to walk around like this?

I’m really sad about this because all of my friends go here and recommended it to me, but I will not be back after this experience.

I have mixed reviews about this salon. As a first time customer I booked to go see Caitlin for highlights and root touch up. When I got there she had her inexperienced (although sweet) assistant help her. Caitlin seemed kinda of unsure right off the bat of what color would best suit me. I said I wanted to go a little lighter but my 2 pet peeves with hair is when it turns brassy and when it doesn’t blend cohesively. When she started the highlight process she did one side while her assistant did the other ( bad sign right there) the end result was AWFUL not only was hair brassy but my roots were significantly darker, it did not blend and one side was so much brighter than the other. On top of that I still had random roots that weren’t covered, and a haircut that seemed like an amateur could do. For over $400 I expect to feel good about my hair and not have an amateur assistant trying to build her clientele work on me. If an assistant does half the hair job the cost should be cut significantly, it should also be stated while being booked. The only saving grace for my experience was the next day I called and the receptionist was so sweet and had me come back in free of charge and Savannah fixed my hair. She did a root smudge; and color correct. Now my hair blends evenly and doesn’t feel like brass straw. Long story short the prices are high which I don’t think is worth it. I got my first haircut & conditioning treatment at Moxie Park with Rosalie! First the space & location of the salon was absolutely beautiful. When you first walk in, you're instantly greeted by smiles and good energy. They have the cutest waiting area, with coffee available (which after a long day, I genuinely could've cried when seeing that lol). I cannot say enough good things about Rosalie! I find it quite hard to find a stylist that cares and doesn't just want to rush you in and out of their chair. Once I told Rosalie the basics of what cut I wanted, I was a little stumped on a few things like what length I wanted my bangs. She noticed this right away and came up with a plan that instantly made me go, 'Yes, that's exactly what I want'. I felt heard and I felt comfortable in her chair quickly realizing the professional that she was. This was not her first rodeo! I'm not typically one to write reviews but I'm just very grateful to find a salon & hairstylist that I'm confident in to deal with the craziness that is my hair.
