I recently had the pleasure of dining at Home Town Barbecue, and it was an absolute delight. Right from the start, our waitress Lucy impressed us with her exceptional knowledge of the menu and her warm and friendly service. She recommended some of the best food and beverages we could have asked for, truly going above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was top-notch.
Let's talk about the food. It was simply unbelievable. We started with the nachos topped with brisket, queso, and beans, and let me tell you, it was out of this world. The combination of flavors was absolutely fantastic, and it left us craving for more. The wings were equally outstanding, cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. Just having those two dishes alone would satisfy you for a week.
Moving on to the entrées, the portion sizes were significant, ensuring that we left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. And let's not forget about the frozen cocktails. Oh my God, they were incredible! Just one sip and you'll be hooked. The creativity and quality put into these drinks were truly impressive.
What truly made our experience stand out was not only the amazing food but also the exceptional service. Lucy's attentiveness and genuine care for our dining experience made us feel welcome and valued as customers. The level of service we received at Home Town Barbecue was among the best we have ever experienced.
If you're looking for a memorable dining experience with mouthwatering food and outstanding service, I cannot recommend Home Town Barbecue highly enough. Whether you're a fan of barbecue or just someone who appreciates delicious food, this place is a must-visit. Prepare to be blown away by the flavors and the...
Read moreBe aware that this is not a COVID safe restaurant. As I told the manager on staff, I love this restaurant. Great food and great wait staff, and I'm all for supporting local restaurants during this time. That said, in return I expect restaurant owners to respect the patrons that come there by providing a safe dining environment. I'm in town for one night and out of all the amazing restaurants in Charleston, I chose this one. So when they seated my daughter and I right between two tables with other patrons within just a few feet, I felt a little uneasy. I didn't make a big deal about it, but when the group in the four seater behind us left, I asked if they'd move us to that seat in order to have more space in order to be safer for my daughter and I. I was shocked when they came back and said they wouldn't move us because they needed it to seat a larger group. They did offer to to move us outside where it was probably 45 degrees, but we just came from a soccer game, and my daughter was wearing shorts. After watching the seat stay empty for 10 minutes I asked again and was again told no. As I left I mention to the manager that I was very disappointed because they put their interest ahead of me and my family's health and safety. He said the other group was before us in line for that seat which is awfully confusing considering I had already been seated. At the end of the day they should have never seated that many people in such a small space. See attached photo of how close people are to each other...and this is after I left! Other than this, the food is...
Read moreWe came here because of the good reviews on Google Maps. The ambiance and service were good. We ordered the 3 meat platter and added brisket, which we were not asked if we wanted chopped or sliced, and it came choppep, but we wanted it sliced. We also ordered the platter with coleslaw and hash rice (the hash and rice separated for our toddler to eat some rice). We also ordered the wings, which were recommended in Google map reviews.
Ok, the 3 meat platter review: Pulled pork: the meat was a little salty and oily. Choppep brisket: The meat was soft and tasty. Pork ribs were dried. They were hard to pull off from the bone and had no flavor. None of them (meats) had a smoke taste.
The most disappointing meal was the chicken wings. We ordered them after reading so many good reviews, but we were disappointed. They were dried with no taste, not even smoky. Even my toddler who likes wings did not eat them. Side dishes: The hash rice sauce was thick with some ground meat and a bit salty. The rice is just a long grain plain rice.
They have a lot of sauces on the side to add to your meat or meal, but the sauces were not that good. Most of them tasted from a vinegar base. In my opinion, if you have to add a sauce to your meal, then the meal is not seasoned and cooked well.
They also have a credit card 3.25 percent credit card surcharge fee. We were surprised to see that.
We will not be going back nor recommend...
